1948 actually. He just changed the last 2 numbers around.

Yeah, Mrs R is doing sound thanks. Slow slow slow, but that is the deal.
Is she back nagging again
That's normally the first sign of recovery.
You know when she has been away for a weekend and comes back and microscopically inspects every inch of the house with her eyes to see what you where up to and asks " Whats that glass doing there ,it belongs in the other press"
That's how mine operates anyrate lol

I see a scientist from SAGE has quit after breaking lockdown rules to meet a married woman he’s seeing .

not for the first time , nor do I expect the last time , in this thread I find myself typing “don’t do as I Do , do as I say “

I’m very glad he has quit. That Imperial College guy, Neil Ferguson, has been the one who spooked everyone with his forecasts and has a history of getting them wrong. So we should all be glad he’s gone......I reckon he’s done this on purpose to slide away......

Seems very odd (she came round to his house and the husband knew), though the fact that it was apparently the Telegraph who broke that story might suggest this is rather more about him falling out with No.10 than anything else.

Interesting to see the level of posting on this, the most used Covid19 thread on GOT since the crisis really accelerated from the last week of February to the present.

Weekly number of pages in this thread since Feb 22nd to 3rd May (Week 1 = February 22nd-29th, and so on)

Second half of March (weeks 4 and 5) seems to have been the peak...something which chimed in with the u-turn performed on the herd immunity-lockdown strategy and the aftermath.
So we have successfully flattened the curve

By the way, on the day when the UK officially became the worst performing nation in Europe on Covid19, where was the Butcher at the press conference?

MIA - again.
You can't compare,see below

"There is no national figure in Italy for deaths in care homes - the numbers are collated on a regional basis and slightly different measures are being used in different parts of the country.
But, says Eleonora Perobelli, a researcher at the Observatory on Long Term Care in Milan, "the vast majority of officially confirmed Covid-19 related deaths are registered in hospitals".
We do know that the latest UK figures include more than 4,400 people who died "in a community setting'"- in other words outside hospital. We also know that there were relatively few tests carried out in care homes until recently.
But in Italy, we simply don't know how many of the Italian deaths may have occurred outside hospital.
So it is difficult in this case to be confident that we really are comparing like with like."

I can see that Or Maybe September, I’m not discounting the Obvious health issues but much longer I’m not sure there will be a lot of places left to open.

be interested to read your thoughts of opinion actually pete . A lot of talk about restaurants and cafes but almost nothing about pubs . I think if you open the former the latter has to have consideration as well . Admittedly Probably with restrictions over numbers , table service and the like . Pubs were trusted to police the smoking ban and did so, I’d hope they might Be given similar respect .
