Funny thing is we had an election in January and he and his party got the least of the popular vote of the big three parties (gives you a sense of how prepared we were for this). We were in the process of forming a new government when this hit and still are really. But it will wait until this is in hand i think or as much as it can be. Looks like we will have two of the biggest parties joining together for the first time ever with rolling leaders. Like if Labor and The Tories ever went into coalition - the idea is to keep Sinn Fein out of power.

It was a great effort and i was pleasantly surprised, i think Europe and the rise of the stimulus package after this has enabled us to do some innovative things like this and be able to fund it going forward. The private hospitals, consultants and insurance companies wont be doing it for free, but helps the national effort so fair play.

You know my feelings on our older people, thankfully we are trying to remedy now but much damage has been done. Id support an inquiry into in after this to be honest, unacceptable mistakes were made.

imagine taking the opportunity to make a joke about how you got mugged in a speech following 20000 people dying

20,000?, it's nearly double that, they are withholding the truth about how many are dead because it's a scandal.

Up until 10 days ago OAP's where leaving hospital after recovering from Covid and being sent straight back to care homes without having any tests to see if they still had it, absolute madness, sending people back into care homes to infect everybody, common sense tells you that is very dangerous practice.

The highest proportion of cases by far is in Belfast which is very densely populated.

dublin has the highest proportion of cases down south
It makes sense that the densely populated areas have more cases

Just been told I have to take a pay cut.

This thing is going to effect so many people in a terrible way. Which makes it worse the cost of living will most likely go up.

In fairness, grateful that a small pay cut is the price to pay here, there are many losing jobs in the current climate.

true mate but I think every company will be different in how they go about this but how they’re weighting this from earners on £100k to someone on £25k will tell you what kind of firm you work for.

Sensible statement, he speaks well, especially when compared to that stilted robot Raab, but all in the detail and we may start to get how the easing for certain businesses will happen (at a future time) later this week, but it's not the right time yet.

It always looks more likely that later in May is possible.

Said the right things. We'll see if his daily briefings actually are more open and transparent going forward. They haven't been so far

Thanks for posting mate, interesting to look at. I wonder how much of Spain's planning is guided by timing and lifting of restrictions trying to save their summer season and tourism, i would think that is massive for their economy.

i think Spain is hoping for the best outcome and not expecting it
There will not be many foreign tourists heading to Spain this year
