Love this whole ‘furloughed workers should go and help bring in the harvest’ argument. Looked this morning and the closest farms looking to take on staff are 45 minutes away and paying minimum wage. Which would be treated as a second income. Think I’ll pass.
It’s attitude like this that will bring the country down. You should happily volunteer to help, take no payment for your services except for expenses to cover your lunch and travel.

Pride comes before a fall.

Hopefully not in this case mate.

Its an interesting one though isn't it, some of the anecdotal mad cap stuff you mention, then from a macro point of view they are doing terrifically comparatively.

Greece stand out for me to.

There has to be things they are doing well that we aren't in Western Europe, that we could look at, learn from and maybe adopt.

Who has done this?

Edit: OK. Alexander de Pfeiffer.

Boris said " If this virus was a physical assailant, and unexpected and invisible mugger - which I can tell you from personal experience it is - then this is the moment when we have begun together to wrestle it to the floor"

"And so it follows that this is the moment of opportunity, this is the moment when we can press home advantage"

You're right. People should profit off my free labour. Whatever would we do without an inexhaustible supply of strawberries and raspberries on our supermarket shelves? To the fields!

If you can find out how they measure cases and deaths too, you're a better man than me. The prime minister owns the biggest media company, with the Chinese recently buying another.

I tend to take official stuff with more salt than the EU stole from @Joey66

Right mate. You think things are far worse and they are feeding false numbers, you'd know more about then me of course with family on the ground.

A modern day Cicero according to some on here, and not a content-less over privileged dangerous inbred buffoon

Cicero and Johnson do have an awful lot of parallels - both mouthy egotists who talk themselves into situations that nearly destroy their country, and who massively over-egg their achievements.

His other hero (Demosthenes) was even more of a bellend than Johnson though.
