Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

There was a piece on the radio earlier that suggested the daily deaths are now slightly, and only slightly, ahead of a normal expectation at this time of year.

But without a fuller picture, we, the public, can only go by the daily CV deaths, and them beginning to hopefully flatten in the next week or so.
Knowing somebody who is involved in the collation of the numbers that is a truth. I am going to guess we might also have a reduction in for instance RTA deaths, or even industrial accidents. Make no mistake this is the push over the edge for many who were there anyway, hence the choices doctors will have to make with regard to allocation of available life saving resources.

I don't mind Whitty admitting we can learn a lot from the excellent German response, honesty goes a long way in these circumstances and its better than an idiot like gove pretending we are number one or something. Plus after 10 years of cruel tory cuts its not like we had the infrastructure to respond as well as the Germans let alone government talent

Loads of folk have permanent oxygen support at home/in care homes.

Point I was making, and your ex mate confirms it, being on oxygen support is not a critical condition. You even monitor your sats with clip thing on your finger. God knows how.
Is true....I am on oxygen support to help me with my lung problem, the latter is debilitating but not critical (yet) as you say........its been a great help to me...at first I only used it to help my mobility outside but now find I am using it more to move around the house. Combined with the meds I take which slow down the advance of the condition, I am able to adapt and enjoy the quality of life I now have.....others are not so lucky.

They are well versed in the skills needed to combat (computer) viruses
Sorry I now its in bad taste but I could not resist
Read a very lengthy article about Bill Gates a while back
Really changed my perception of him
His attitude towards money ,his children and talks he gave to High Schools really amazed me
Plus his charity and philanthropic work

Good point, though I have no idea what his interest in stamp collecting has to do with it?

That Raab is bleedin awful... Must have come out with every clichéd do not say, when someone is ill of something that can kill. Johnson has a talent of surrounding himself in pap, it makes him almost competent at times.

Sorry to hear that lad. My mate had larger bottles in the living room with extra long leads so he could use a stair lift and still be connected, then he’d change to a different bottle at the top of the stairs. He would have told anyone that it was a pain but he still enjoyed life...keep well.....

How many could she have passed it to though mate ? All over Wirral and Birkenhead every night she is.
I'm fuming with it all as are many.

My local news tonight had a story where QA Hospital in Pompey were using a nursing home to home people with symptoms as they were out of beds.
Well guess what's happened.. yep, 5 deaths in 24 hours as they are passing it round.
Those deaths don't count for our figures either as deaths in nursing homes are not being counted btw.
Absolutely bloody mental. I'd even say borderline criminal that.
99 clusters in nursing homes in Ireland
Again a lack of PPE TO PARTIALLY BLAME
However the nursing home owners have a lot to answer for as well
Using cheap agency staff that travel from home to home is a major factor as well

Thanks....I also have a concentrator like your friend, but I only use it sparingly because of the trailing leads......might have to make more use of it now.....hate stairs but not got the Stannah yet.... ;) ;):) Keep well yourself.
