He really could have.

Agreed, but it's a dog eat dog world in politics. He probably thought he has to be seen as a strong leader especially in the moment of crisis. If someone comes in and does a better job while you are out of action, questions might be asked that you never fully recover from.

It could also just be he's silly and there's no telling him. Take your pick.

Probably why he hasn't recovered. It is at these points you are kind of glad you aren't PM. Not a job you can take a few weeks off to just focus on getting better.

Of all the countries in the world though to have our leader go into hospital with it. Everton that. That should be the CMO's head on a plate, can't even advise how to keep the PM safe!

You can take a week or two in Mustique though with someone else picking up the tab.

Just read the story and the government are still downplaying it every single step of the way.

Only moved to ICU as a precaution. That doesn't happen. Same as you don't go to hospital for tests as a precaution.

They really don't want to admit the truth here and God forbid it goes the wrong way, how can they downplay it anymore? To go from precaution over and over to serious, can't spin that in any other way.

Just be bloody honest for once.

The problem with coronavirus is that you can go downhill very quickly. Family friend walked into hospital unaided with coronavirus. He was put on a ventilator within 24 hours and died within 20 hours.

The PM being very sick or the frontline nurse who died from Aintree Hospital?
Both are a awful situation. I’m not arguing here as that would be extremely tasteless. Losing the head of state (even for myself who is a staunch labour supporter and liberal) will cause panic and instability which is the last thing the United Kingdom needs now. I have family members who are nurses in the NHS, and a grandmother in intensive care with coronavirus who likely won’t make it through, so the nurse situation seriously hits home as well.

Eh?

I post one thing that is my opinion and you react like im some sort of Russian Bot influencing hearts and minds with some ulterior motive.

@RAFUH I never have come across you posting in the Everton forum and I rarely post in the ale house/affairs forum as I tend to stay away from non football related stuff on a football forum so I aplogise if my post has been taken the wrong way but I think your response was a bit OTT - I havent read up on this thing as much as you obviously therefore you could easily have responded showing me what you mentioned in which fair enough.

I just find it a very erratic virus - to not kill 90 odd year olds but then killing 20 year olds with no conditions to ranging from no symptoms whatsoever to severe viral pneumonia is something I've never seen in any viruses I've heard of (admittedly im not an expert on viruses!).

he isn't the head of state btw

Not being able to say goodbye or have loved ones by your bed is the facet I find most distressing, both for the patient themselves and those they leave behind.

Absolutely horrible. Hopefully Johnson recovers but if he doesn't we would have a serving PM without a funeral service outside of closest family, nevermind a state funeral. Unprecedented times.

Fed up of people constantly trying to take the moral high ground.

It's all crap. Really bad. Just have to hope this week is the final week of it being really, really bad in the UK before we start to see a bit of a flattening off in the numbers.

Can't do anything else except follow the guidelines and hope that they work and at the same time do all we can to support those working night and day to save people.

There'll be time for point-scoring later.

Why? Because it fits your agenda to say so even though you have posted nothing to back it up. Somewhere in here I did post an article from a peer reviewed journal that concluded SARS-CoV is natural in origin.

This is a virus that primarily uses animals as hosts. It is hardly shocking that it has jumped back to an animal.

Please stop with this until you can post actual data to support your theory or I am going to begin to wonder if your theory has intent that is not acceptable on GOT.
Who needs evidence in the era of misinformation and disinformation? Emotions are seemingly all people need to found their opinions.
