Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

I'm sensing light at the end of the tunnel here. Deaths down, new cases under the forecasted trend and lots of capacity in the NHS.

Personally I bought clippers and started doing my own locks last year. Haven't been to the barbers' in over a year. I think we'll see this more and more as discretionary money's going to be a bit tight for a few years.

Excuse me but I very much do get that this is and will be a major economical problem.
I have been following the economic impact on this closely and reading what the experts
IMF ,EMF Irish Central bank and the majority of the experts are saying this will be a recession as bad as if not worse than the 2008 financial crisis.
Some are even saying it could be a depression
It all depends on weather the recovery is a V shaped curve , a jagged curve or even possibly an L shaped curve
The only people who I have seen saying it will be a sharp V shaped curve and things back to normal within weeks are, suprise suprise, estate agents
who obviously have a vested interest in high property prices and rents
From I can make out this is going to be a slow recovery with a lot of hardship and pain along the way.
If as predicted a vaccine is 12-15 months away then economic recovery will not start properly till then as lockdowns become the norm

So 73% are overweight
So what my sister in Long Island regarding a lot of obese people in ICU seems to be holding true elsewhere
Yep, one of the reasons why I think that “herd immunity” is just not feasible without a vaccine - far too many of the “herd” (especially here in the US where obesity is very prevalent) would be vulnerable.

I believe we need to focus on other approaches whilst we wait for therapies/vaccine, thankfully we can learn from what other countries are doing as this thread discusses.

Makes me think this thing has been developed in a lab - seems very random in how it infects, the range of symptoms from nothing to severe pneumonia etc.

Wouldn't be suprised if the Chinese were dicking around in some Wuhan Lab and it got loose / infected a worker who's taken it out into the public unaware.

Why? Because it fits your agenda to say so even though you have posted nothing to back it up. Somewhere in here I did post an article from a peer reviewed journal that concluded SARS-CoV is natural in origin.

This is a virus that primarily uses animals as hosts. It is hardly shocking that it has jumped back to an animal.

Please stop with this until you can post actual data to support your theory or I am going to begin to wonder if your theory has intent that is not acceptable on GOT.

BIC are even cheaper than clippers
