My son who is on furlow took the dog for a walk - public still in groups older ones too not families either when will people learn?,...
He came back home as a policeman moved in to disperse them ......

Yeah I edited that post before to include that.

No system is foolproof but the certificate system is doable.

Indeed the only reason those serology tests aren't here now is because it'd completely invalidate the lockdown unless there was a system in place (and even then it'd mess up the lockdown as you'd have to have police stopping pretty much everyone constantly for it to work.)

I don't buy for a second that the ones they have "don't work" - just another lie.

Oh I think its true that they don't work. The scandal there is probably that in buying them some minister got done for hundreds of millions of pounds of UK taxpayer money by an obvious fraud.

Don't like what seems like a push from the media to relax these controls. Is it me or people trying to play fast and loose with lives?

Banging on about the 3 week review, does it seem like it's particularly safe out there at the moment? Release it too soon and we will be back to square one. They should all k'off.

It's also now the Easter holidays so the kids would all have been off anyway for 2 weeks.

Unfortunately their is no big public figure telling people what to do now Boris is out of action for a spell.
The letters that arrived on UK doorsteps today couldn't have been more badly timed either.

I hope any relaxation here isn't rushed just because of the Germany situation and how they are coping well, but I can see it happening with weak leadership.

I think other European countries also found that certain items, including test kits bought from China did not work consistently....it may be a lie, but it may not be.....

Cos people need a daily death total to stay in.

The problem is though Goat that even with a daily death total there are still vast numbers of people flouting the rules about staying at home, look at the weekend just gone and I dread to think what the long Easter weekend is going too be like, especially if we get the warm weather.

I'm sensible enough mate (and I would deffo think you are as well) too realise how bad this virus is without knowing how many people have died daily.

Thats why I would be really interested in them comparing a daily death rate to the same date last year. Maybe not every day, cos that could have unintended consequences, but in the fullness of time.

As was mentioned earlier that will be for the expert to pick the bones of this thing IF we come through it
Yearly deaths can then be examined and adjusted for the difference with lower deaths expected due to lockdown ,crime ,work accidents ,RTA etc

There was a piece on the radio earlier that suggested the daily deaths are now slightly, and only slightly, ahead of a normal expectation at this time of year.

But without a fuller picture, we, the public, can only go by the daily CV deaths, and them beginning to hopefully flatten in the next week or so.

Countries appear to be following very similar curves and we are no different. I do not believe the German recorded numbers are being measured In the same manner. This needs to be fully investigated and understood. If they are correct and measured in the same way then we need to understand why. If they are measured or accounted for differently then they should be discounted from any comparison....
