Are non essential workplaces still operating ??

The on line delivery world is busy I am told. And I know for a fact that a huge % of stuff being delivered is certainly not essential.

Nice to have, or sommet to pass the time, but not essential. So its a judgement call I guess, cos delivery drivers, (everyone assumes supermarkets, but all), as classed as key workers. Which by definition is extended to warehouse and distribution staff. Who are not classed as key. (food notwithstanding, obvs)

@RAFUH you might also find this interesting given your discussion earlier

Thanks. I've seen similar reports out of Chicago as well.

Interestingly, the coronavirus binds to the angiotensin converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) in the lungs. There are long known genetic differences in the Renin-Angiotensin systems (more in the kidney and blood pressure effects than lung) between AA and Caucasians. Very interesting area for research in the future, but hopefully doesn't supplant the very real socioeconomic differences contributing to the different admission/fatality rates.

More the site its on. Think its assumed that Chinese data is iffy, but the BMJ are generally sound/sensible.

The Conversation have lobbed the two together, and arrived at a "maybe" conclusion it seems to me. So have they a decent record of their "maybes" being accurate once more is known?

Very well respected journal in the medical community.
However, everything about CV that is being published is preliminary at this point.
This is what a lot of politicians and journalist get wrong IMO. They jump on published article like they are the end-all-be-all.

It's still such extremely early days. A LOT of what we "know" right now will change as we get more data, collect it more accurately and don't have all of healthcare tied up with keeping folks alive.

Prime now has free delivery within 2 hours minimum spend £15. I ordered at 5pm and got it by 6pm same day.
I ordered some stuff at 5.48pm from marks and spencers and got it by 11am the next morning.

There are some great people out there working hard

As a home renter (I know you're discussing businesses) I'm still paying full rent so guess my landlords haven't bothered to look at a mortgage freeze as they have me propping them up. If my income stops for any prolonged length of time I'll have to tell them either I need a rent freeze/mortgage freeze scenario or I'm leaving without notice.
In ireland you are entitled to ask for a 3 month rent freeze if your job is affected
No evictions allowed in this period.
I can see a lot getting a free 3 months and then just buggering off somewhere else
