The problem is we need these 3-4 players in THIS week. We need atleast a week to get them bedded in the squad and training with the rest of the first team. No point signing them on deadlinedsy and sending Jags, Williams and co against Wolves.

Pre season results matter very little imo what I do find concerning was that line up, I know a fair few are not first team regulars but you need strength in depth , quality and i don’t see it in a few areas with that squad

Seeing people laud Niasse as they do, yeah he’s got a good attitude and seems a good lad but ask yourself is he the type of player we should be having here to aspire for better than monotonous 8th/mid table finishes?

I’d never thought I’d say this, I’m getting bored with Everton, we just exist, every summer the hype deflates into another underwhelming season and we go on and on in the same manner year after year and it’s taking its toll.

Yes the new director/manager need time but again the club drags things on and on, stifling excitement. A lot of the bigger gobs on social media kept saying how important this summer and our first signing was only a few days ago, they were backtracking before the player was set to come here. Make your minds up, it’s either a majorily important summer or it isn’t.

Sorry for the rant, I just don’t want this to be another one step forward and two or three back situation, we’ve had far too many of them over the years and it’s gets frustrating.

I thought the premier league was closing the window before the season started. So whoever is in the squad for Wolves is what we have until Jan...

You can sell players to other leagues until their respective league deadlines are up.

was the first half that bad?
Yes it was. If you aren't completely blind like some, you can see how Silva's teams like to build up from the back and spring the outside backs. While Keane and Jags aren't great at it, Gana did a decent job in the second half and we successfully attacked down the wings, even with the slow footed Baines. They were fortunate to score and win the second half, we missed a couple sitters and dominated.

Pennington and Williams along with Besic and Davies simply could not bring the full/wing backs. The CBs kept passing it back to Stek, who was a mess with it, and Besic just kept trying unecessarily difficult passes in his half and giving the ball away. Gylfi was playing higher up the field as was Oumar, and they could not get the ball. Robinson got lose a couple times, pretty much of his own doing and Mirallas had it in some dangerous areas but did nothing with it. We had an obvious PK not called and Gylfi probably could've scored. but we simply could not move the ball out of the back.

And the marking on set pieces was a complete disgrace. Pennington played maybe the worst half I've seen a player have in a long time. He made Williams look good.

I'm having a tough time finding other people who thought the second half went well. Just need to take chances but if we are gonna have a cold streak it's a good time

They didn't really create anything and we missed several sitters and had the ball the entire half. It was pretty one sided.

Who in their right minds would buy our players, we have third division players on first division wages. Our problem is that the players we have think they are too good to move to the Championship and we have aided and abetted this myth by paying over the odds for them
I hope Moshiri explained to Brands and Silva that we were a doer upper and not the finished article.

We sold Klaassen for anywhere from 12 to 16M.

We can sell any of our players, simply tell them they won't be registered and to find new clubs. Might not get fees for Williams or Mirallas, but we can move them wtihout question. And I think we likely will, just give Brands some time.

Surely nobody is surprised?
Marco has a MASSIVE rebuilding job on his hands.

We are/were not suddenly going to be ok over the summer.
This is not knee jerking, this is reality and those who think all is fine and dandy must have fell asleep for two years.

We have almost the identical squad of failures to last season, that struggled under 3 different managers.

How long will the optimists stay relaxed before worrying, without new signings at the back?

Just a friendly last night? That is how we play lads. This is where we are at. ;)
