I swear, there's more of us Kiwis on GOT than Scousers.....
there seems a fair few!. But the number of UK people permanently migrating to NZ is very high the past 10-15 years...about 15,000/year. I contract a lot of building work and I hardly hear a kiwi accent in the tradie crews these days. Cops are all poms and a lot of upper-senior management are recruited from UK as well.

Another positive.
Silva and Brands now know that new players are required as the majority of current batch can’t play for toffee.

And they still have two weeks to do it.

There is a worry in there though.... time is running out. Takes time to assimilate new players, get them to understand a pattern of playing with new teammates, get settled at a new club. I understand the long-term view, but how patient will the fanbase, and Moshiri, be if we get off to a poor start and are mid-table or worse in November?

This is very true. Same in my industry. And we need good, quality people coming to this country.... in spite of what the present government may think!

We know from recent times that this is a squad in need of BIG overhaul. But realistically, (thanks to Fatty and Gormless), we can only chip away at it. Patience is required. Despite the facetious silliness of my posts in today's match thread, I am not in a flap about where we're at presently...early doors.

I agree with this and I do believe Everton have failed to get rid of the deadwood and are leaving it far far too late

One thing I will say in their defence though is let’s take Williams for example. Who on earth is going to want him that is able to pay his 70k wages? That’s our problem

Players like Bolasie again big wage and we won’t want to sell unless we get at least 75 percent of our initial outlay back. That’s why it’s so imperative this time any further signings we seriously seriously have to make sure are right otherwise we get the same problems.

One thing annoying me is why we gave Pennington a new deal when this now makes it even harder to get rid of him! He was resigned before silva and the board/scouts need to have a serious word with themselves as to why they felt he was good enough for a new deal.

Hopefully we see a starting 11 that closely resembles the one that will start on the first day against Rennes. Hopefully most get a full game too.

All the chopping and changing that comes with preseason is making it hard to see what we exactly need. It’s also hard to see partnerships forming.

You can also tell that by some of the comments on here. Some are saying we need an all new central defence and others are saying we need more forward options.

From my clouded observations we definitely need to add something to central defence.

Hopefully Marcel’s and Marco’s ideas are clearer and more precise than mine.
