It’s ludicrous how we let players age and become decrepit at this club. Hopefully this changes under Brands but right now it’s so painful to witness. Even if they’ve been able to “do a job” these last few years, Baines and Jagielka should have been phased out. Of course we wasted money on over the hill Williams as well. When people said stuff last season like “Jags is still our best defender”, do they not realise that’s not a positive.

Again, none of this can be laid at the feet of Brands, but it has to change.

I didn't watch the game but the scoreline as well as other pre season scorelines so far doesn't look good. I hope we don't come to regret getting rid of allardyce. I was one who wanted him to stay but of course I'm now fully behind Silva. But I do think Allardyce is probably the better of the two
haahhhhahahhahahahahaa. I will never regret getting rid of fat sam.

We know it's only pre-season but alarm bells rang loudly tonight. Even playing badly we should expect to beat a team like Blackburn. No disguising the fact that the midfield offer no support for the attack and little support for an already feeble defence. It is a worry.

If we play our creative midfielders in midfield they get run over because they are weak and slow. If we play the likes of Schneiderlin and Gueye we don’t create anything. Ultimately none of the midfielders are good enough and offer Silva tactical problems as they have too many limitations collectively.

You didn't watch the game, did you?

Because Gana was outstanding, especially in his passing range. He was about the only midfielder that switched fields or got it out to the flanks, which is quite a bit of what Silva wants us to do. He's not just the least of our problems, he's a MASSIVE strength in our midfield and the reason why we dominated the second half, Jags screwup aside.

If I'm looking for some sort of consolation it's that this will demonstrate we have some absolute s*** in our squad and are in desperate need of more incoming players over these couple of weeks. If Silva/Brands somehow didn't know this before, they know it now.

Look at it this way: Our backups who we know are crap got beat 2-0 in the first half but also got denied a clear penalty because Atkinson. Second half the first team played better and missed at least 3 big chances and had one bad moment that got punished. If it was a real game that would be frustrating. As it is we are fine. Got to improve but still fine

Outstanding??????

LOL

What am I actually reading here lol

He is woeful in posession. There will be no football out of us until he is binned.

The only positive from tonight is that it’s only pre season.

I will start forming a judgement on the new regime come Christmas.
