We need to talk about Nottingham Forest.

unfortunately no - 5% of 42 odd thousand means Forest will still get their full allocation.

    The Aston Villa Thread

Strange indeed. However, injuries put that last poor run into a bit of perspective. Important players coming back and the team have picked up again.

Won 11 on the bounce - beat Arsenal and Man City - smashed some delicious goals in - but, yeah, I get your point...

    Tottenham Hotspur

Now that Wolves have gone I think they'll go out with a whimper and Tottenham win there. I think that will rejuvenate them and they'll have a strong ending to the season. West Ham will go.

Sorry, yes, Villa need to finish 5th and not top 5 for that to work.

    Europe Thread 25/26

Not really. Villa who are 10 points ahead of Chelsea, would need to finish 6th and win the Europa for us to have 6 teams in the CL. if Villa win the Europa and finish top 5, then the extra space goes to a coefficient country (bizarrely, I think Scotland) it doesn't drop down to the team...

    Other Clubs Transfer Window 2025-2026.

I remember being on a Fulham site I think when they signed a Dutch winger (previously at Liverpool and I was living in Istanbul at the time so saw him up close playing for Besiktas). He was sh*te and said to the Fulham people that he would continue to be so. He went there I think in Jan and was...

    2025/26 David Moyes

Not sure of the point, apologies, but after Arsenal he went to PSG, then to Villareal. Then he turned the Newcastle job down before Howe got it, and then ended up at Villa.

Is it time to boycott football?

The difference being that Tottenham is in London. A huge city that can accommodate a franchise team. Birmingham simply couldn't.

Is it time to boycott football?

We are but we can go no further. Look at the Gallagher deal for instance. Because of PSR we negotiated a loan to buy for £25m. Tottenham come in and offer £35m. The haves always have done that but we have that money - as do Newcastle - as do many others, but we simply aren't allowed to spend. On...

Is it time to boycott football?

Sorry, haven't read past page 4 but not sure of PSR/SCR has been brought up. It has killed competition and the game is now a closed shop for the haves. There is literally no way through.

    January Transfer Window 2026

It's PSR and SCR - the latte3r being the biggest issue. Also, because of the squad rules for UEFA competitions, if we were to bring anyone in then someone already in the UEFA squad would have to be taken out before that player can be added. So PSR isn't killing us in having to let anyone go, it...

You'll have Super Jack back and that'll be enough. Don't forget DCL tore us a new one last season and we don't have Duran to save us!

From a Villa perspective...we're waiting on tenterhooks for the results of Kamara's knee scan which was done yesterday apparently. Him and Onana out will be huge losses would mean either bogarde/Tielemans in the 6/8 or McGinn/tielemans with barkley also being out. First half we will try to score...

    January Transfer Window 2026

Depends what you rank as huge I guess but as well as Duran there was Diaby for around £50m, Luiz around £40m, Ramsey £40m,, Ramsey A for around £30m, Philogene around £30m.

Let's be a bit more thankful

To be fair it didn't under Emery. He joined in November 2022, and Villa qualified for the Conference League that season going from something like 16th or 17th when he joined.
