The football is still good but the coverage of it is just absolutely awful now. It’s just lazy cliche driven punditry or co commentary for clicks and the endless podcasts around the game now are just repetitive regurgitated rubbish.

Nothing is ever said on any of these platforms that the bloke down the pub couldn’t tell you about football.
I very much doubt the bloke down the pub could/would talk to you about xG/book value..

Sorry, haven't read past page 4 but not sure of PSR/SCR has been brought up. It has killed competition and the game is now a closed shop for the haves. There is literally no way through.

I agree, although Villa are taking a decent shot at it.
We are but we can go no further. Look at the Gallagher deal for instance. Because of PSR we negotiated a loan to buy for £25m. Tottenham come in and offer £35m. The haves always have done that but we have that money - as do Newcastle - as do many others, but we simply aren't allowed to spend. On top of that the 70%SCR is also killing us, so we can't buy better players, who attract the higher salary because UEFA have stymied us with SCR. If it wasn't for Emery we'd already be back in a holding pen waiting to slide back down to mid table at best.

Never going to boycott football.

If you still like watching the sport then there is plenty out there, that is free from the disillusion of top flight football. Even if you are an armchair fan there are a fair few EFL games on Sky, even the odd 3pm Saturday games, when it is International weekends.

FIFA more than anything is what is doing most to drive me away. It's like a replica of the US govt in that they aren't even bothering to hide what they are doing. It's all in our faces and there's nothing the fans of the game can really do so long as the majority continue to watch on live TV and attend the major tournaments. So long as masses of commercial revenue is coming in, they will consider it all a job well done.

I watch us, Ireland and Barça because I always have, but beyond that watch almost nothing despite having access to watch any of the games I want. Watch my teams and play football myself. That's it

Altho in regards to what some are saying about non-league I am thinking to start attending some CE Europa games as they play only a few metro stops away from me and some of the lads from the footy group have started going and you can have a beer. Have seen some videos of their derbies against San Andreu and the atmosphere looks great.

It's been a while since I've actually celebrated a goal as you know VAR will check every minute detail to try to find something to prevent it. After that buzz of the ball crossing the line, it's just complete 'mehness' these days. I do enjoy watching championship football however, a goal is a goal and there is much less rolling around trying to get people booked and gamesmanship.

I watch a lot of non league games and at no time have I ever thought that VAR or goaline technology would improve it. A waste of time and it's reinforced the inequality in the PL.

That's why like spurs have already, you are on for redeveloping your ground. Maybe Birmingham could franchise an NFL side? It's about making the ground pay as often as possible.
