Apart from Kelleher, Collins, Henderson to name three who make up the backbone of the team
Yeah, apart from those three out of the squad of 25. Go and count up in total how many of their players came straight from a Premier League team.

Every team always has players out. It would be madness to reduce the smallest squad in the league by a further 5 players.Quality, quantity.
We've got players out right now, sure.
But end of season, why not?
I think my post sounded like a suggestion for this window. He's not going to get us to Europe, but Keane has been an important first team player this season and selling him immediately would leave us short. Same with Mykolenko. Similarly, we may not rate McNeil, Beto and Patterson, but selling them all immediately would make our squad much weaker. We have a paper thin squad and you're recommending selling 8-10 first team and squad players in order to replace them with 2-3 players, that's bonkers.
It's a cliche, but there aren't quick fixes here. We need to be making smart investments over time and trying to clear out dead wood when we have the opportunity to do so at a decent price. It's especially important that we're investing smartly in young players, which is why it's so disappointing that Dibling is struggling so badly. On the other hand, we have signed some young players recently that have worked out well: Garner, Ndiaye, O'Brien and even Iroegbunam all look like smart investments given the relatively low cost.
Squad size aside, keeping '2 or 3 max' of Aznou, Dibling, Tim, Armstrong and Rohl and selling the rest for 20m is so funnyGood post.
Out ASAP:
- Patterson, prob McNeil, (Myko is a squad player, keep maybe )
- Beto
- Keane
- Seamus goes with huge respect, but legs done. Top guy.
- Be ready to ship Branthwaite for top dollar once fit to accelerate the fixes elsewhere
= 80m+ the lot
Develop, but not starting
Adnan, Dibling, Rohl. Armstrong, Tim Iroegbunam. Keep only 2 or 3 max.
= 20m
So there's 100m on the table NOW for players not adding or even playing much.
That's a decent CF and probably LB and RB, too.
Depends what you rank as huge I guess but as well as Duran there was Diaby for around £50m, Luiz around £40m, Ramsey £40m,, Ramsey A for around £30m, Philogene around £30m.Jhon Duran was sold for HUGE bucks, but agree they that Villa have evolved their squad well season by season. Similar to Newcastle, they have probably hit their PSR limits though using the model they have signing more established players for quicker progression.
Thats shipping out up to 9 player to fund incomings of 3 players. Squad is nowhere near big enough and thats before implementing the madness you have suggested.

Which 3 are we selling for the princely sum of 20m?
I meant the opposite. If you sell any two of the above 5 for 20m or less you're making stupid decisions and getting absolutely fleeced. And I don't even rate Rohl."But sir! We just paid £35m for Dibling alone, plus add ons"
If he's easier on the eye end of season, ship him and Rohl easy £20m, yes.
He can't be great and and not worth that, or not worth half that and worth keeping at the same time.
I think people on here seem to forget that if a player doesn't want to move or their club blocks the move then we can't sign them. Equally if nobody is interested in buying our rubbish we can't sell them. Thought I'd just put a reminder in here as it seems lost on some people.Google translate on the sources website:

Source being the local paper in Bologna. Sounds like we want it but they're not convinced
