Would you sell Jelavic?

I think with an addition of quality up front - maybe 15 goal a season striker we would have been in top 4 this year. Think of the games (even Chelsea yesterday) where we needed that goal for 3 points. Jelavic has been a joke this season. Some of it was a lack of competition so guaranteed place. But I do think we need to buy a Benteke this summer.

Do not wish to harp on but poor Jelavic looks permanently bewildered..."WHY DO I KEEP FALLING OVER"? he looks to be asking himself. The kind thing to do is release him from his torment; let him go and he can fall over in someone else's colours.

Why??

Lets say we sign a striker in the summer (negredo for eg)
Jellavic would then be third choice. He's even worse from the bench, as his coordination detirates not playing every week. He's no super sub, which Vic can be.

Absolutely no point keeping him unless we have no one else and he's gonna be 1st choice in the hope that he can get some form going and slot some goals.

If we wanna challange top 4 need better.

Infact.... I personally blame jelavic for us missing out on Europe!

You're making the assumption that we'll sign a top drawer striker in the summer. I'm not as I've been supporting Everton long enough to know not to expect such things.

Jelavic may find his form again under a new manager and I'd like to see him get the chance.

Hope that answers your question of "why?"

We had one and sold him for 3m (Beckford).

Would we even recoup our outlay on him? Don't know what his wages are like, probably 40kish? Random guess! Perhaps worth loaning him out in a shop window sort of way. His value could perhaps go up. Alternatively, he could stink another place out and we're stuck with him and have to sell cut price. He just looks fragile, mentally and physically, especially for someone who is 6"2...

Yes I am making that assumption, and based on that I see no reason to keep jelavic and would rather the 5M cash for him to try our luck with someone else.

Obviously if we don't sign anyone else top drawer then keeping him becomes more important.

I wouldn't sell Jelavic simply because his value will be so low. Might as well give him another shot to see if he can find some form/confidence rather than offloading him for a small amount.

He has been total sh*t* this season and I was all for getting rid but with a new manager who knows. He may return to concentrating on his own strengths and not have the extra duties that Moyes may of give him. I have always thought that with strikers you should let them do there own thing as it comes natural to them. If a coach or manager starts saying things like do this, be there when we haven't possession then you are taking away there natural instincts. He was great when he first came, so natural and made goals look like second nature so something is amiss.

Poor strikers value's start around 5M tbf. We wouldn't lose money selling him. As we have done in the past, clubs will buy players that are out of form in the hope they can get the best out of them.

Cut our Loss's if the situation arises. We need better, much better!

I hear falco is available to leave his club.....haha

So was last season really just a fluke?.... Crazy like if it was.... He almost now looks like one of those guys you see on those shows 'worst football transfers' who can't play for sh1t and just tricked the manager by calling up pretending to be some one famous recommending them....

He's scored everywhere he's been except for last year. Strikers have had piss poor seasons and have bounced back. He just needs to get a few to get his confidence back. I would keep him. Even if we get a striker with our FellaniBucks, there is no telling if said striker is going to be good and we are still thin at the position (and Vic is injury prone).

A new manager will give him some new found confidence

Moyes ruins strikers FACHT

Using wiki, using words like FACHT, when did Damon hack your account lad?

Will be interesting to see if he does come good with a new manager.

To be honest, I think the squad is that threadbare at the mo that we shouldn't really be looking to offload many unless it has huge financial benefit, which Jela doesn't.

The point about a new manager helping him along is a good one, there is undoubted ability in there we just need the right man to bring it out
