Who let Everton/Koeman down?

aye...the sheer perfect timing of us splashing out only once Stones was sold is too fantastic to be a coincidence.

could well be so.
Could be we were slowly stringing city along to get the price up bit by bit, then had to take the current offer as we needed the cash smartish as our time was running out too.

happens once - well thems the breaks, if we're still having this on the 1st Feb AND the 1st Sept 2017 then truly nothing has changed and Moshiri will palm us of for a big profit to some other mug...I really hope not.

Also;
It's said that if you had to choose between coq-up or conspiracy...mostly it's coq-up

Over to Moshiri to pull something tangible out of the hat.

it's about analysing systems, and understanding what role chaos plays.

deffo chaos has a major role in Everton affairs but there are also systems in place which are utilised to maximise income (agent networks, marketing, ownership changes, broadcast/ownership rights).

i'm just putting two-and-two together and making five ( @magicjuan )

Erm, it's still 3 :)

Juat blind faith from Moshiri mate. Putting the trust in Bill and co to get these deals done and clearly there was a huge error of judgement there. Similar to Ed Woodward over at united, they trusted him to be able to do the job and he massively struggled by himself.

I just think that overall the failure stemmed from lack of planning from all round. At some point over 2 months when these higher calibre players like witsel and mata decide they aren't going to sign, most people would say ok, let us negotiate the lower end of the list and at least get the players in whilst we still have time. the fact that people on the business side thought chasing players from napoli and porto for example up until the end would be a good idea is just examples of how badly they did at the job.

I would even argue to a certain extent that Koeman did not ask for Valencia, and he was brought in as a body for the squad out of desperation, but i have no proof on that so opinion only haha

Moshiri didn't make billions by being naive mate, he knows exactlly what he's doing

if nobody's interested, how is it our fault we can't shift them? No point in getting rid of kone anyway, he's still 3rd choice striker. and the second choice striker is an injury catastrophe.

Just out of curiosity who do you think the best player is out of Kone, McGeady or Niasse?

I think many different factors came in to Everton being let down a bit. First of all the market for players was just out of control. The kind of money being thrown around for bang average players (because of the new TV deal I suppose) was ridiculous. I think we all (even the club) got a little over hyped with our new supposed war chest and just figured we could buy whoever we needed and that those players would come to us. Our ambition was there, but the deals just didn't get done for one reason or another.

After consecutive 11th place finishes, RM left us in a place where we don't seem to be an attractive club to 'premium' footballers yet. We tried to poach players from some big clubs but they ultimately choose different options for their careers. The transfers we did get in are great in my opinion, but just look at the clubs we got them from. Palace, Villa, West Ham, Fulham, Swansea. All of those players we got saw Everton as a step up in their career and rightfully so, but it goes to show that its hard to attract a bigger name to a rebuilding process of sorts.

I think even though our manager was let down a little bit, he still has the ability and our squad has the talent to do big things this season. Once we are contending for a European place again, more players will want to come to us. We have a vision, but sometimes its hard for people outside of the club to be convinced of that until they see results. The Moshiri/Koeman era is just in its infancy. There are going to be some bumps on the road ahead, but our future is brighter than ever.

Jesus.... There is legitimately people on here who will happily see the same things happen year after year after year and they'll just keep saying if it happens again next year i'll start to raise my eyebrow, how long will peole make excuses for fgs

But he doesn't know if the fellas he put in charge to do transfer deals are going topull through for him or not.

And to be fair, we didn't make him any poorer after this window. ........

He knew the people who were in charge of transfers were imcompetent, he gains from this and doesn't lose money, it's a win win for him

tp be honest i don't think he would have done.

He has signed up thinking highly of Bill and knowing how poor we were (still are?) he probably was happy for the likes of bill and robert to take centre stage in the transfer side of things.

Then they have all royally messed it up as a result. It is whether the board admit to a mistake here, or just blame bad luck that will be a major factor here

The same old bs as usual. So much for the new Everton eh.So much for this 100 million smackers or whatever when our transfers dealings were bought mainly with the Stones money. But the mask finally slipped on deadline day when our showcase deadline day signing was some cast off from renowned footballing powerhouse West Ham United on loan.I smell bs and i fear that Koeman took the job under false pretenses and assurances.

I'm really sorry for saying this but you must be the most gullible person in the world if you really believe what you've just said
