Who let Everton/Koeman down?

Has anyone wondered why there were so many African footballers involved in transfer sagas this summer? The answer is agent networks, and certain agent networks are more partial to mutually-beneficial public bids than others.

Steve Walsh was supposed to help us widen the net, look beyond these networks. Had he had real money to spend I'm sure he would've done.

That's a hell of a leap, mind the fall

Why do we always need a hate figure.

It's in case dave's been banned.

Instead the hype has been allowed to gather massive pace and the situation has run away from them. They are now in serious credibility deficit and it needn't have been that way.

To be fair, I think that's spot on.

Hopefully they'll have learnt from the mistakes and will start to communicate with the fanbase.

I believe we are now financially competitve with all but the rich clubs, but we still have to be canny in how we go about our business to make sure we use our cash more effectively than our competitors.

Net spend isn't the be all and end all, improving the squad more than our competitors is the important thing, and though our squad is stronger now than it was at the end of last season, it's not necessarily stronger relative to our peers.

I'm not actually buying this one... He came from the premiership champs and would have had a list of players they would be chasing. Our needs actually were not to different. They brought in 2 strikers. Yes they have the benefit of CL but neither was out of our price range and it appears we didn't even try for either of them. Did he literally only have Gueye up his sleeve?

Ask me who I blame - fully and squarely on Walsh and Bill.

...I think it's reasonable to assume that Leicester's requirements were different to ours. He'd have been on the outlook for players that fit their system. He's come into a new club with different team shape and strategy, i dare say there is a lot of lining things up before the window opens. I don't think it's as easy as you suggest but hopefully he'll be fully prepared for January.

I think it's all our fault. Everybody involved. From Moshiri down right through to the fans.

I think the only solution is to close the club and give our place in the league to a Celebrity XI voted for by the public on Twitter.

I don't think anybody can disagree with this. Make it so.

The fans? Erm Yearh for buying more season tickets than we have done? to be smacked in the face and lied to again n again. Yearh fans fault aye

it's about analysing systems, and understanding what role chaos plays.

deffo chaos has a major role in Everton affairs but there are also systems in place which are utilised to maximise income (agent networks, marketing, ownership changes, broadcast/ownership rights).

i'm just putting two-and-two together and making five ( @magicjuan )

Are we still beliving that moshiri actually got in touch with Jim White personally to tell him he was anxious to do more deals?
Sky played us like a fiddle last night for that exciting to them mind breaking news- when they had banners saying both clubs had agreed terms Correct their other banners having a medical WRONG Player had agreed terms WRONG - how do I know well I telephoned my brother to tell him we had finally signed someone when I told him what was on the Sky programme with the banners going across he stated he was watching BBC transfer day , and they were definitely saying Spurs had not given up, ??? it was a JIM White Finale for a boring day where not much happened late on - He used our club , and I for one will not watch him again words like would you believe it he was at Everton now hes gone to Spurs this is what can happen My a'se -diabolical journalism!

It looks like Kenwright was heavily involved. I put most of the blame on him and Elstone as they are the ones who have overseen similar debacles.

Moshiri is to blame in that he has trusted people who are not up to the job for too long. They have had their chance and failed. What would be unforgiveable from him now is not to act decisively.

The negotiating team, whoever they may be.

Not Koeman and Walsh, who I'm sure identified targets. Not entirely Moshiri, although I hope he gets his own board in soon, and gets more than 49.9% ASAP.
Groucho if a certain BK would have delivered that deadline day after selling a promising centre back who was not for sale last year can you imagine on any forum now the stick BK would be getting - I feel it needs disclosing on how much was spent for backroom staff as we signed as many as them as players on the field - also the 100 million transfer chest why announce that was a laughing stock!
As it now stacks up we sold to buy! as always!
Yet let's keep the faith we have a good manager with hopefully a new stadium on the docks around the corner , and we are sitting well on results so far!

Just the way we waited for the stones money and then immediately spent it/was easy to get players in, tells me everyone on the board are in it to make money and skrimp and save to make more money, it is so blatent, also, Moshiri got this Russian fella in who apparently knows nothing about football but i bed he knows a hell of a lot about making himself and Mosh bags of dosh

Bill was leading negotiations with Elstone in support so must take blame but there are mitigating factors.
  • Moshiri was probably pushing for a marquee to make a statement.
  • Ryazantsev has no footy experience.
  • Walsh formerly a head scout also had no negotiation experience.
  • The net budget was probably 30-40m so had to be spent wisely.
  • Lukaku could have been sold for over £70m changing things dramatically and it was only clear he was staying late on.
