Who let Everton/Koeman down?

Just out of curiosity who do you think the best player is out of Kone, McGeady or Niasse?

kone. he's never been that bad imo, i mean he's premier league quality, he's just not or never has been a great goalscorer. His injury is why he's looked so useless with us. Mcgeady has the most talent of the 3, he's just lazy and undetermined, he could have had a great career if he actually cared, fact is he doesn't. Niasse, has never been a footballer imo. It's a mistake that wouldn't be made again with a manager AND a DoF you'd think.

The same old bs as usual. So much for the new Everton eh.So much for this 100 million smackers or whatever when our transfers dealings were bought mainly with the Stones money. But the mask finally slipped on deadline day when our showcase deadline day signing was some cast off from renowned footballing powerhouse West Ham United on loan.I smell bs and i fear that Koeman took the job under false pretenses and assurances.

Definately mate, the plan is to get the stadium using tv and other revenue and sell his shares for a hefty profit, there is no signings to be made other than Walsh's cheap finds, how obvious is it, people think Mosh the dosh is going to put 100 mill+ into buying shares then put 100 mill+ into buying players and then pay for a stadium haha they're not asking for much are they and apparently it's because he thinks highly of Bill.

That's the point/problem tho. It was questioned massively 3 weeks after 'Witsel is ours' and there was Witsel, just stalling. People asked questions and it was 'you CANT put a deadline on THESE players!'. So we sat...and sat........and sat. So instead of moving on to other targets, the B/C/etc ones, we just waited for a player who had done literally everything Sissoko did yesterday without signing for Spurs. Just ineptitude.
It's difficult to argue against the ineptitude argument as I do believe that the will was there to bring these players in.

I suppose my question is did we change something in the process, ie, the negotiator, or was our process flawed from the outset?

Amateurs the lot of them all summed up by Jim White sharing tweets from club officials who couldn't keep there mouths shut.
The top clubs and there executives don't start tweeting belters like Jim White to share club information on live tv with national and international audiences.
Moshiri has one last window in my eyes to keep this manager he better start by sweeping from the top of the stairs down and planning for January, now.

I'm really sorry for saying this but you must be the most gullible person in the world if you really believe what you've just said
how does that make me gullible? the man has been introduced into the club by Bill Kenwright so it stands to reason that he would trust his judgement in dealing with football matters considering he has been for 15 years.

Now it is clear they are useless at it so Moshiri either gives the job to someone else or continue giving the job to them ala Ed Woodward had over at united.

Its absolutely a mandate for change. Im thankful Sissoko didnt go through, as unless by some miracle he reverts to Euro form only, hes a disaster. But that doesnt take away from the fact the negotiating was abysmal.

I understand the high aspirations early on. But it should have been apparent after the first 2 weeks that we have to do one of two things. A. Pursue players CL teams arent pursuing, or B. Pay higher fees for, and provide big other incentives for players the CL teams are pursuing.

We did neither. We pursued players the CL teams were doing, but tried to get deals on them, which as we saw, was a failure. I dont know if Kenwright was negotiating, or someone else(it would make little sense for it to be Koeman or Walsh), but Moshiri needs to bring in a negotiations master for any future windows.

I would make it public knowledge that EFC will never deal with that particular agent ever again no matter who he represents. It would be a very small but welcome act.

The trouble is that the players "agent" is no longer the shady individual geezer such as Eric Monster, Monster whatever his name was with a small number of players. "Sports Management Consultants" are the agents now and they have deals with hundreds, possibly thousands of players, managers and coaches the world over and at all levels from Ronaldo down to Conor McAleney.

Once you strike somebody like Mondial Sports or Stellar off your list for messing you around then your list of available players to buy becomes much, much smaller. And you can absolutely guarantee that the same agency represents a good chunk of your senior pro's and youth players giving you a whole other headache.

Those pesky players who didnt want to sign for us and their clubs who didnt want to sell them to us.

What can anyone do about that?

We've aimed high in this window, perhaps higher than we've ever aimed before. Certainly in my lifetime of the Premier League era.

We're also a mid-table club, to a lot of players out there, with no Champions League on offer either. How do we make ourselves more attractive?

Throwing money at them hasn't appeared to work. Ghezzal was supposedly made a "very high offer" and still turned us down. He could have been persuaded of course, as with Witsel, but there are limits to what we can offer and so there should be. We're much more comfortable now, but we're not in the financial big league. Kone was keen to jump ship, but Sunderland wouldn't play ball. How much more cash do we throw at Sunderland?

Our targets have eluded us. No doubt there was a list. There's an off limits room at Finch Farm devoted to player scouting with endless analysis (for the good it's done us ;) ) but we won't know how big the list was. Was Bolasie top of the pile? That doesn't bare thinking about! Sissoko hopefully wasn't top of the midfielder list, because that would stink of ineptitude, moving for a big target on the last day.

A culmination of a terrible, over-priced, ultra-competitive market, a club that isn't as attractive as we hoped to appear, a relatively short-time frame for Koeman and Walsh to work together looking at the squad and then sizing up replacements and a naivety from the board by being strung along in some transfer shenanigans where the outcome was never going to be beneficial to Everton.

Next summer will be different.

Think we were very naive this window. It reminded me of Rodgers first window with the RS. Spent far too much time dancing with players who were unrealistic and we're basically using us to get better deals elsewhere.
By the time the penny dropped we left it too late to get in the extra quality we needed. The delay spent sorting out Walsh"s appointment cost us too.
The window wasn't a total washout. I'm very happy with the players we bought and I'm glad that we didn't splash stupid money on turd like Rodgers did after he got caught out
Yesterday was a huge anticlimax but I genuinely believe we will learn from this and bring in more in January

the person who was giving @The Esk the info actually had the audacity to tell him that witsel and mata were 'done' very early on.

how wrong that person was. (whoever it is, obv someone high ranking within Everton fc)

we were really that naive to believe these deals were actually put to bed and so didnt bother looking for other targets?? it seems like it to me.

completly shambolic if that is the case. after all, no deal is done until they have the shirrt and scarf in their hands.

If the clubs ever want to regain control of their game then this is exactly what they should do. Not the agency but the agent. If he can't be trusted then he shouldn't be in the game.......
