We must stick with silva as fans

I want to get behind Silva but he hasn't shown anything to suggest he can improve us. Might as well give him until the end of the season but I sincerely hope Brands is drawing up a short list of potential replacements.
If that's your thinking mate why wait till the end of the season.

Just so he's had a good amount of time to get it right. I think after 2 seasons of no improvement sacking him would be fair. Even as I type this though I'm not that bothered whether he stays or not, I've never felt so indifferent towards one of our managers.

Don't think I've heard a single, genuine SILVA IN! shout tbh, on his own merits.

I mean I've heard plenty of 'he needs time', 'it's totally counterproductive to keep sacking managers', 'he inherited an absolute cluster' etc etc, all of which I obviously agree with. Honestly not heard anyone support him along the lines of I believe in this guy, he could be great, you can see he's trying to do X, Y, and Z which will slay once he has the right squad. Plus, I like the bloke.

Isn't the whole point of the DoF system that it mitigates against the rip-it-up-and-start-again cycle of appointing a new manager? ie we have Brands putting in a long term football strategy that the manager operates within. So Silva getting binned shouldn't be too disruptive.

Poor appointment
Poor results
Poor league position

But apparently sacking him would be ‘bad’

For those who say he needs more time, what would be considered success and by when?

How many bad seasons will it take before we get rid?

It's in his own hands.

If he carries on with defensive zonal marking, and negative team selections, the results won't change.

He seems fixated on the 4-2-3-1 formation, both home and away.

Can he change?
What's that old saying..

Oh yeah..

Leopards don't change their spots.

This is how he plays and that's that.

We should remember as well that last season Silva was able to turn a team going through a series of awful performances and results into a team that looked very convincing.
He has done it once and now needs to do it again.
Yes but he needs to do it before a 17 game skid like last year. That was Koeman level of bad, and Koeman still managed to get 61 points and Europe.

To be fair to Silva we looked very bright last season before the Liverpool game. As others have said, we have just become a bit too predictable and he needs to show a bit of tactical knowledge. Make the necessary changes and put your money where your mouth is.

for the sake of how well we do this season It Is imperative that we dont turn our back on Silva just yet. It has been possibly a poor start if you consider the opposition we've faced, however we are still not out of touch from where we want to be. If we start showing negativity in our home games then this will only serve to work against us.

Silva must improve on away form that is for sure and if he doesn't then he has to go. However if we look at previous managers, the minute the fans turned their back on them then it seemed their time was numbered and positive results seemed impossible. Silva still needs the time to prove himself and we really shouldn't turn on him just yet as there are still reasons to believe he can turn it around and as a club we just cant afford another season or two of transition.
Agreed 100%
