We must stick with silva as fans

Maybe, just maybe the fan base need to stop thinking Everton as a fans club and one of a football club?

What I mean is , thread after thread about supporting / out in regards to the manager is a waste of time. We should be a target driven club now , and judge a manager on that rather than losing to bournemouth (again).

Going straight to Silva out all the time is no different than Watford or west ham fans. Demanding instant success but then bemoaning some of the players we have to play. We get somewhere by progressing now, not buying a cup.

Silva may be not good enough but sacking one mid season gets us allardyce type managers who set us back rather than take us anywhere near where we want to be. How about we back the team rather than just solely the manager? Then the club can evaluate whether he has done good enough?

Changing managers regularly turns us into Watford , sure you are laughing them on the Garcia thread for that exact reason.

This a billion times over

I think there are very few who want him sacked just now, most realise that time must be given to the manager and the team to improve.

I don't want him sacked, but I am concerned about the teams he picks at times and the lethargic performances we sometimes see.

If you put fans in charge of team selection it is 100% certain that team will be relegated but that doesn't mean that fans can't see when things are wrong.
Schneiderlin and Gueye did well last season just as Gomes and Gueye did well but the Delph/Schneiderlin partnership does not seem to work and I didn't even think Schneiderlin was that bad last Sunday.
The midfield of Delph/Schneiderlin/Sigurdsson seems to me to offer very little, no level of pace and very low on creativity.

It is the managers job to get the mix right, his job depends on it.

We criticise players without fully understanding that they may be asked to play a role that is alien to them and they can look poor because of this and sometimes the team can struggle until the pieces fit together. We saw something like that happen last year.

I dont want him sacked, im just REALLY angry.

Weve had 2 chances this season to leave a mark, to show we mean business and in both games we simply didnt show up.

Its very early days yet and as I keep saying, theres no easy games in this league and playing anybody at home is no easy task, but the least I expected was us to be in the games, both games we got blown away, sure not for 90minutes, we had a LOT of the ball in both games, we just did nothing with it.

Other people blame the players, with the boy Iceland getting his fair share, but I blame 1 person and 1 person only.

Others are also suggesting the squad has holes in it and it does, Brands has been here for just over 12months and hes basically rebuilt the whole squad, whilst trying to remove the crap, no easy task and im sure things squad wise will look massively better this time next summer, but for now we have holes in key areas. BUT, the squad we have is very decent and is rammed full of very good players who look Barca class 1 week and Barnsley class the next.

To me thats down to coaching, sure the players arent top, top tier, but a good manager gets a tune out of average players, a great manager gets a tune EVERY week out of good players and we have some good players.

But no, I dont want him sacked, at this point im willing to give him a fair crack and a fair crack is another full season, for now, im hopeful that we can win our next 3 games, which will no doubt improve my mood a LOT, considering 1 of those games is against City, ive just got a feeling we get something from that game, im usually wrong, but if City come to Goodison and blow us away, it wont sting half as much as getting rolled by a crappy Bournemouth thats for sure.

I normally get over defeats quite quickly, but for some reason this latest 1 has stung me a little and I just cant shake the hate and the anger!!!!!!!!!!

It's in his own hands.

If he carries on with defensive zonal marking, and negative team selections, the results won't change.

He seems fixated on the 4-2-3-1 formation, both home and away.

Can he change?

for the sake of how well we do this season It Is imperative that we dont turn our back on Silva just yet. It has been possibly a poor start if you consider the opposition we've faced, however we are still not out of touch from where we want to be. If we start showing negativity in our home games then this will only serve to work against us.

Silva must improve on away form that is for sure and if he doesn't then he has to go. However if we look at previous managers, the minute the fans turned their back on them then it seemed their time was numbered and positive results seemed impossible. Silva still needs the time to prove himself and we really shouldn't turn on him just yet as there are still reasons to believe he can turn it around and as a club we just cant afford another season or two of transition.
Ok Marco

....fans have the right to not only have an opinion, but to voice their opinion. Folk shouldn’t blindly support the Manager if they feel otherwise.

Frustration is totally understandable, all tickets to Sheffield Wednesday sold out in a few hours yet performances continually fail to reward the fans dedication. The club owe this generation of supporters a lot.

My view on Silva is that we need to analyse his team when players are available and up to speed. I had no doubt these early games might be a struggle. I imagine Silva’s first choice central midfield is Gomes/Gbamin, it hasn’t had a run of games.

He clearly wanted pace in central defence, but has had to make do without. Lots of us predicted this would be problematic. This squad is very much in transition, it’s very much work in progress.

I want to get behind Silva but he hasn't shown anything to suggest he can improve us. Might as well give him until the end of the season but I sincerely hope Brands is drawing up a short list of potential replacements.
