Today, the russians launched a missile attack on Kharkiv, in the area where I live - at the moment 10 people have died, including 1 child - about 50 more people were injured. In this photo, my yard and car

I hope you, your family and friends are able to stay safe. I can’t even imagine how terrifying it must be to be in this situation and one can only hope that peace comes to Ukraine soon. Too many people have died unnecessarily and seeing this pictures of destruction of innocent people livelihoods makes me so angry at Putin and what he has done to your country. Please, when you can, keep us updated of your well-being, and if there is anything we can do to help out.

It does change that fact that NATO could have a big part to play in this whole scenario, pulling the strings and letting Ukraine do the dirty work and feel the wrath at the same time.

It’s not like they don’t have history for it.

Just like they done in Yugoslavia.

Why would Ukraine do that?

Dundee Utd signed Gordan Petric from Partizan Belgrade for 650k, which was a club record at the time.

That also happened about 30 years ago and has got absolutely nothing to do with the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

It does if the missiles (neptunes in this case) are sea skimmers.

I’d say it’s more of an issue with the Russian Search and fire control radars not being capable of locking targets in wave clutter. Check out the simulation linked by @tsubaki. If proves that the mid/short range missiles didn’t engage at all.

Seems like the entire Russian sea-borne AD systems are geared up to go up against US harpoons or their equivalent. The Neptunes are designed from the Russian KH-35, kinda ironic that they got done by their own technology. Doesn’t surprise me as they’re not the smartest are they?

TBF they are probably geared against aircraft as well as missiles, certainly they’ve done loads of simulated battles where the Grumbles have shredded NATO fighters as well as Pinguin / Harpoons or other western missiles or bombs.

It was the fact those missiles didn’t even fire that was shocking, if that’s accurate then it basically says that without AWACS or other radar the first warning they would have gotten is only a few miles worth, which isn’t a long time.

1 meter sea hight is nothing.
