Thanks to both. I have made donations already to other organizations dealing with Ukraine. But I also thought it would be nice to help a fellow Ukrainian Blue whose needs may not be met by the official channels. Maybe @Kharkiv has a more direct way for us to help him too, but I understand the hesitation of sending help to a random person here on GOT. I tend to be more trusting of people’s good intentions.

No evidence he is a Blue. Nor where he lives. EVERY post has been in this thread since he found us a week or so ago.

Perhaps, but he also may be an Ukrainian Blue telling us the truth. I would find it surprising that a scammer would decide to become a member of GOT, introduced himself in the new signings forum, tell us a story about him having an Everton Duncan shirt as a child, and try to pretend to be Ukrainian just to get money from us. So I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt and hope our posts don’t dissuade him from keep us informed about his situation.

We get dozens of attempts every week. Their tactics have changed as the tech has changed.

Had a Dunc shirt as a kid? 1st post congratulated us on "Your win". Waited till he was (I assume) older, and 50 days into a war, to become a New Signing. Within a week asking for stuff. Predictably, folk aint gonna send 80 litres of oil or fuel or whatever, but a "would cash help?" response within minutes.

Just saying like. Might well be genuine, just dont send money, and deffo dont trust the internet unless you are 110% certain.

TBF they are probably geared against aircraft as well as missiles, certainly they’ve done loads of simulated battles where the Grumbles have shredded NATO fighters as well as Pinguin / Harpoons or other western missiles or bombs.

It was the fact those missiles didn’t even fire that was shocking, if that’s accurate then it basically says that without AWACS or other radar the first warning they would have gotten is only a few miles worth, which isn’t a long time.

What makes it even weirder is the fact the Moskva’s role was to provide the AIr defence cover for the Russian amphibious fleet when they were out of land-based protection.

The useless lot on board couldn’t even protect themselves, never mind anyone else.
