Heres a list of the current ongoing wars in the world.

Notice how everybody only cares about the 1 that involves mainly white Europeans.

:coffee::coffee::coffee:
Everything is not equal in human nature though - rightly or wrongly.

If two of your neighbours were having an ongoing battle that threatened to spill into your garden you might be more concerned about this than reading in the news about two neighbours having a tussle in Australia.

What I am saying is that it is your neighbours fault and you might want to consider getting your hose out and giving them a good soaking.

Yes. I agree.

Is Putin just a mad man or a mad man in charge of a very dangerous weapons?

Let him fade away maybe as his war fails and the sanctions hit home?

Had always been what he is Putin, it's only now he has bitten too hard on the hands that feed him and regime, the narrative is now he is mad. He should have never been allowed status he was given. Of course he winked at "free market" and the West went week at knees.

Of all the people to leap to the defence Peter Oborne on Corbyn (who he describes a failed political leader), but below he sets out in detail the extent of Putin's influence on British Politics and how the political and media classes only turned on Corbyn once near power for highlighting the problems of Putins gravy train.

And I fully expect this to explode across parties, but the Tories are the ones in power and who've filled their boots with Russian cash, no questions asked it seems Profumo on steroids and coke...

Not sure that pi55ing on them Is the answer

Personally I would like to see NATO forces on the ground stopping this massacre. It's hard to fathom that the united weight of however many countries is in NATO aren't enough to call a halt to this madness.
If NATO were to send any forces in I beleive Putin would immediately raise the stakes by using chemical weapons and/or tactical nuclear weapons. He would give NATO advance warning so as to be able to claim "I told you what I would do if you sent troops in". The result would be a significant increase in the death toll in Ukraine and the risk of further escalation. What would NATO do then?

You must also be aware that as things stand there is almost zero chance of NATO going into Ukraine unless something changes. I think the Poundland Rambo's on here realise that and can therefore push for military action knowing it will not happen.

The only real way out of this is for a negotiated settlement no matter how distaseful that may be in some ways.

In an alternate universe NATO have agreed to supply Ukraine with whatever weapons Russia use against them. DaveK is the chief mod on GOT and Everton have run away with the league.

That's extremely offensive. As far as I'm aware it is Zelensky and the Ukrainian people that are actively asking for military help and it is NATO that is choosing not to give it. Would it help to portray all those opposed to giving Zelensky the help he requests "pound shop Walters"?

In living memory we've had "the west" say to CZ to not bother defending themselves because they won't get any help, and to Poland that they can try and defend themselves (from two enemies) but they still won't get any help. What is it we stand for? Do we only intervene when there is oil at stake?
