Think 905% might be a slightly high estimate, really.Sounds like just another made up bollocks spouted by our media. I guess it's no different to over 905% of crap.

Because Russia is a member of the UN Security Council and can veto any actions .I can’t remember.........did the UN go into the Yugoslavian war with weapons, or just as peacekeepers? Why can’t the UN get involved in Ukraine?
If we sanction China in the same way as Russia we really are crossing the line between morals and absolutely destroying ourselves. If China supplies Russia with anything I'd be hitting them with sanctions too.

So just ignore what Russia think and go in I say.UN Peacekeeping force in Yugoslavia came about as a unanimous resolution of the Security Council (including Russia and China). At this point doubtful China would agree and, certainly, not a chance the Russians would accept such a force sent to Ukraine.

Like 361% of all statistics, that number might well be made up.Think 905% might be a slightly high estimate, really.
It probably won't happen but if you consider the implications of the west allowing itself to become reliant on Russian commodities and Chinese manufacture and commodities then you might see a large strategic gaff that we might want to unpick - even if there was some pain in doing so.If we sanction China in the same way as Russia we really are crossing the line between morals and absolutely destroying ourselves.
Everyone will say its the right thing of course
For China and Russia forcing us to sanction China would be a great way to bring the West down...
China Says It Wants to Avoid U.S. Sanctions Over Russia’s War

- U.S. has repeatedly warned China against helping Russia

China wants to avoid being impacted by U.S. sanctions over Russia’s war, Foreign Minister Wang Yi said, in one of Beijing’s most explicit statements yet on American penalties that are contributing to a historic market selloff.
“China is not a party to the crisis, nor does it want the sanctions to affect China,” Wang said in a phone call Monday with Spanish counterpart Jose Manuel Albares to discuss the war in Ukraine. “China has the right to safeguard its legitimate rights and interests.”
I saw a report recently discussing the Russian strategy of not only destroying Ukraine's infrastructure but also its agriculture sector too. Horrific as this is there is some sense in Putin's warped goal of achieving this. It is all very sad. This war needs to stop. Now.
The longer it goes on, the more desperate the soldiers will become and the more likely they will commit war crimes. I worry that they will go 'all in' once they know losing means facing criminal charges. And by 'all in' I mean callous destruction of evidence including witnesses.
It reminds me of the sage saying that there are 10 types of people in this world, those who understand binary and those who don't.Like 361% of all statistics, that number might well be made up.
Globalisation has been an incredible force for good. I'm not sure we should be looking to unwind that based on the actions of an utter lunatic who is happy to destroy his country for the sake of pride. It probably won't happen but if you consider the implications of the west allowing itself to become reliant on Russian commodities and Chinese manufacture and commodities then you might see a large strategic gaff that we might want to unpick - even if there was some pain in doing so.
Such a move if made could be viewed as a potential vehicle to withdraw and reclaim some of the the economic power that we have handed over.
I think China will see this which is reflected in both Russia and China working to dedollarise themselves in a move that in one area would take away the threat of sanctions whilst maintaining our reliance upon them.

Besides China, Putin Has Another Potential De-dollarization Partner in Asia | Council on Foreign Relations
Russia’s de-dollarization efforts mean that China and India can help Russia skirt sanctions by jointly building an alternative global financial system, but they risk facing severe consequences on their own financial entities.www.cfr.org
I do feel though that China will be as shocked as Russia by the way that not only the the wests governments have gone gung ho in its sanctioning of Russia but more so at the reaction of big business withdrawing too. It would appear sensible for them not to expose themselves to this level of economic threat. A snip from a recent Bloomerg interview with China's Foreign Minister pointing to this.

Crazy times and seems crazy that humans seem to have a superpower in consistently cocking things up.
UN were utterly useless in Bosnia.I can’t remember.........did the UN go into the Yugoslavian war with weapons, or just as peacekeepers? Why can’t the UN get involved in Ukraine?
I agree, but sadly when there are autocratic rulers acting like nutters and trying to move to a position in which they are untouchable, it is a worry and as economic levers are all we have had outside of war or submission.Globalisation has been an incredible force for good. I'm not sure we should be looking to unwind that based on the actions of an utter lunatic who is happy to destroy his country for the sake of pride.
