Look Brendan, I'll put it to you as simply as I can before I put you on ignore (the real ignore, not Kev the Rat ignore). I don't think swinging in here with laughing emojis and posts that generally amount to "haha, Russia are going to win you msm-swilling idiots" are the truth bombs you think they are and make you look a bit foolish and uneducated.

Yeah, Russia will probably win if it keeps going like this, but that outcome doesn't make you some oracle of truth and the situation has a lot more parts and nuance than that. Just dial it back a little, and when you've done that, dial it back some more. Have a good day

Surely "territory area" taken isn't important- it's the key strategic/contested areas? + strength of the opposition

Ragrding the misinformation posted and shared about Covid on twitter over the last two years. A similar type of misinformation we're seeing shared about Ukraine online now. That's an issue mentioning that? Wow OK. What type of poster does that make me then? Jumped the gun there and made assumptions haven't you...

I can use a laughing emote if I want mate. I'm not in here laughing at people dying am I? I'm in here saying people need to realise the reality of this situation and stop lapping up misinformation and propaganda put out by intelligence agencies to garner public support for war.

The only person looking a fool here is you. Am I supposed to care that you're putting me on ignore? We don't communicate in here anyway so it's irrelevant.

Brendan would have to start claiming that he has Russian connections and openly revel in the deaths of innocent people. He's a bit clueless, but he's not that bad tbf to him. On the topic of Kev the Rat, have you noticed his output since being banned from this thread? Going from hundreds of posts a day to a post in the Wordle thread and 4 posts on the Everton forum (3 of which are bashing Ukrainian player). Who says sanctions don't work?

That is a thoughtful statement.

For myself, I don't think we can just leave the people of Ukraine to be bludgeoned into submission. At least we should arm them. And I think there are strong arguments to intervene militarily - because it is hard to see where this will stop. And at heart I am a pacifist and pro- CND.

But this piece is worth a read for all the inter-connected issues it explores.

E.g. This must not just be an opportunity to promote shale gas.

I don't agree with their conclusion. But thanks for this Brendan

Yes, I noted he went into the other forums and continued with the theme in certain threads.... before ceasing abruptly. Wonder if he's getting thread banned one mad post at a time? ?

I'm in their camp as I'm sure you can guess. I don't want WW3 and military intervention from the West = WW3. If you see my previous posts I've said how I think it will play out for Putin. I don't buy into the propaganda that Russia are ill prepared and Ukraine have them on the ropes etc. I could be wrong ofc but I just can't see it based on what we've seen and know outside of twitter rumours and misinfo.

Assuming it all does go that way and WW3 is avoided then Putin will pivot firmly to the East from now on imo
