My own data with students (not published, as this was informal in classes) at an elite private university suggests that if there's a small hole in any game you set up, and you dangle grades in front of the students for explaining how to play the game post-mortem in a paper, one of the smartest ones will find that hole during play and swim through it.

This has been found to be the case in published research as well. If you take one of these sorts of games, and you administer it to USAF officers instead, they do considerably better than the general population.

Which outcome obtains, then, depends on who is running the show. If there's a situation that would propel the most cunning among us to power, it's invasion by hostile aliens via sheer survival pressure.

Maybe get yours out of the sand. While everyone is praising the Russians protesting our own government is trying to make it illegal here.

I know what you are referring to

If you seriously, seriously think it will ever be comparable to what happens in Putin's Russia, then you're an idiot

Sorry to be blunt, but you are.We don't live in a country that is state controlled or will ever be, despite stupid bills like this one. Know why? Because papers and broadcasters are able to report on it, they're able to open up a debate - you're able to post and complain about it on an internet forum.

So sorry for snapping, but it will never, ever, ever be comparable. Ever.

@Tin-Tin apologies for the harsh term, you are clearly not an idiot

I just feels posts such as yours inadvertently downplays how horrific it is what Putin's regime does and has done. Same as China, other de facto dictatorships etc.

You can fairly complain about things but you can do that knowing full well you will not face repercussions. That isn't the same as what happens there.

The article was about 2 women were jailed for protesting. Thats what our goverment want to do. The hypocrasy of the government praising the brave Russian protestors for standing up, yet at the same time wanting to quell unrest here with threats of jail.

And they won't get away with it because you, me and everyone else in this country has the right to go and complain about it.

In Russia, if we commented about it, we'd be found and 'disappeared'. That's the difference.
