Btw watch the BBC doc on Ukraine the other month, where it literally showed a drone operator killing a wounded russian soldier begging to the operator. Then come talk about the moral high ground.

What moral high ground? There is no moral high ground in any of this, it’s a war and a complex one at that.

Simple fact is that there’s people in this thread who believe that Ukraine are the ones fighting against Russian interference with their lives & believe an Ukraine “win” protects Europe.

Then there’s others who believe the West are the only source of “evil” in the world and everyone else is reacting to it. It’s fine for you to sit in that camp but what’s boring in this thread is you & some others making up that people are “celebrating” & making up what others think. Pack it in.

They’ve not forgot, they’re just in the camp of its NATOs fault.

It was NATOs fault that countries in the Baltics, who’d suffered ethnic cleansing for years under the Soviets, decided they wanted protecting from the very country that’s invading others.

I haven’t said any of those things about you and I do understand your position given your personal situation.

I don’t agree with it though. It’s a hypothetical but if the UK invaded a country (not like we haven’t before) I wouldn’t just staunchly support that move because that’s where I live and my family are too.

I was a bit too young when the Iraq war and then Afghanistan started. But by the end I was old enough to see it as a terrible thing that I wish we had never been involved in.

I just can not and never will agree with what Putin has done in this situation. It doesn’t mean I hate all Russians or that I want this war to go on forever until Ukraine have an unlikely victory. But while Ukrainians don’t want to lay down their weapons then I think it is on us to support them.

If Ukrainians decide they want to just end it and are willing to go to the negotiating table then fine. Could be grim for the newly occupied territories but if that is what the majority of the country want then fair enough. It’s not on us to extend a war that most people that are properly involved wants.
