It’d have been a lot easier to not invade Ukraine in the first place, but here we are with people making thinly veiled attempts to justify and defend Mad Vlad the misunderstood and his meat grinder.
Of course it would mate. But it'd have been a lot easier if the US and their allies hadn't invaded Afghanistan and Iraq. It'd have been a lot easier had Boris not told Zelensky to withdraw from negotiations in March/April 2022.

A lot of things have got us here and a lot of people are to blame.

Putin shoulders his share of the blame (and it's a very large share IMO) - but there's no way nearly 3 years on you or anyone else sensible can surely think it's all black and white?

I know it’s not all black and white, but Putin gambled and failed that Ukraine would roll over in a few days and he’d be happily sat on his throne, in a Russian version of the Ukraine today, setting his sights on the rest of Eastern Europe, whilst the West sat on its hands, dithering and did nothing ( again ).

It’s all for his own ego, vanity and greed, dressed up as Nationalism at any cost.

That's accurate.

Looks like the Ukrainian occupation of Kursk is rapidly coming to an end.

Ukrainians themselves stating there's been a 40% take back of the small part of Kursk oblast that was taken.

I doubt that's going to be in play as a bargaining chip after Trump's sworn in.

At what cost? To both sides. What an incredibly pointless war this is.

It cant end quick enough.

If Russia have lost about 100,000 men then you can be sure that Ukraine have lost that may too, no matter what the propaganda states is their loss.

Families in Ukraine want this peace deal signed. I think that's what people on social media, who's whole lives seemingly revolve around getting a buzz out of military using buzzwords and hoping for the ramping up of Ukrainian attacks, cant or dont want to get their head around.

Funny that, as every single Ukrainian national who is interviewed, all state that there should be no surrender on Putins terms.

Or are they being selectively interviewed by Western media ?

You’ve stated repeatedly that “ Ukraine is done for “ Ukraine has no appetitive for continuing the fight against Putin “ and now the Ukrainian people want to surrender.

When all the evidence appears to point to the opposite.

It's over for Ukraine.

Trump is said to be creating a special envoy role to go with a plan to freeze the conflict, and Russia are making rapid progress in eastern Ukraine.

Here’s one of your more recent ones.

As per usual, you’re dressing your own opinion up and presenting them as fact.

You're right, and for Iraq the US and ourselves get pelters for it - we are to blame. So surely, Russia should be getting the blame for this as the aggressor, right?

The Afghanistan story I genuinely believe is a different entity indeed, but that's for another time and thread.
