100,000 men? And the rest. They probably lost that just taking Bakhmut. That alone was an absolute meat grinder for months and months. Literally throwing bodies in as cannon fodder to test Ukrainians defences and shooting soldiers if they refuse.

I've not said Russia don't deserve pelters. I just also feel largely the same people that took the West into those wars (not the same leaders, necessarily, but the same types of government) have also played a part in this continued escalation in Ukraine.

As I've said, played a part. Not the whole part. There's lots of factors at play.

Of course Putin/Russia were wrong to invade. Saying there's factors that contributed to it isn't the same as excusing it.

There were plenty of factors that lead to the rise of the Nazis. None of them are excuses.

The meat grinder is operating on both sides.

Zelensky will have a price to pay once this war ends.

You're not comparing joining the International Brigade with joining a rag tag outfit of mercenaries fighting for the survival of a kleptocratic regime?

The brave communists in the 30s received no payment, they were just determined to stop the nazis in their tracks in Spain before they took control of the whole of Europe.
