CNN is showing some live footage and they commented there have been some massive explosions just outside Kiev. People are afraid that Putin is about to begin a bombing campaign. If the city receives such attack from Putin how much more is it going to take for the US and NATO to do something for Ukrainians? It really is a shame that we are going to let Putin murder these innocent civilians. I don’t want for us to begin WWIII but letting Putin get away with bombing of Kiev is going to be a stain in the history of our countries.

It has to, the alternatives are at best horrifying and at worse unthinkable.

So far this war is busily creating the two things that probably give every Russian government sleepless nights (a relatively united west and a military that looks weak and incompetent because of what he asked them to do). I am not sure he'll reverse course either.

It would be worth almost anything to get him to stop this - not in terms of selling out Ukraine, but trying to coax him back into the global community.
Aye, I’m not smart enough to know how we could have avoided this spiral but sure hope we can find a way to stop it escalating

Going after the Russian Central Bank now and disconnecting it from swift whilst US is seizing the banks reserves.

This effectively means Russia’s biggest bank will not be able to trade nor will it be able to prop up the ruble with its reserves.

Upshot is the ruble could collapse in days, the Russian economy will be shot, inflation will spike. Hopefully adds more internal pressure to Putin and the Duma

if they "win" this is going to have such massive repercussions across the world for the gun lobby, even here I think
I know it's needs must in this particular case. But having thousands of guns in the population after the war is just asking for trouble. I think it is/was illegal to have private weapons in the Ukraine and this is very much a temporary measure. So I don't think it's the best example of private gun ownership since it's the gov that handed them out.

Ok I got the surrender bit wrong but it was broadcast on the bbc at the time so I didn’t make it up

Maybe I’m not totally believing every western media source that’s all ?

No I’m not at all I just don’t trust the media here

That’s why I question it.

No one that’s why I’m asking questions

Not the BBC mate I can assure you

But I bet you do

So you quoted the BBC even though you don’t believe them or dont trust them? Why?

Then you’ve trotted out the cliche that you’re “just asking questions” - aka JAQing off.

Genuine question, who is your #1 trusted media source?
