Ukrainian news reporting that Belarus will hold elections to decide if they want to stay independent or join Russia, if they join Russia it’s obviously bad for Ukraine as they will add to Russias war effort.

“Approx 50 barrels of Russian oil destroyed near Chernigov
‼ ️The National Guard of Ukraine reports:
Ukrainian artillerymen blow up echelon of 56 fuel tanks for occupiers' army in Chernihiv region - Gerashchenko

“The Ukrainian military blew up an echelon of 56 fuel tanks for the Russian occupation army, which arrived this morning from Russia at the Nizkivka station in the Chernihiv region.
This was announced by the adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Anton Gerashchenko in Telegram.”

☝?The train with diesel fuel arrived for the Russian military advancing from the direction of Chernihiv - Sumy. Local residents passed this information to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“Our artillerymen worked at the station and blew up an echelon of more than 3,000 fuels for the occupying army! Eyewitnesses report that there is a sea of fire on the site of the station! ” he wrote.

Today, Ukrzaliznytsia announced that it had destroyed railway crossings with Russia, as they continued to transport tanks and other military equipment to Ukraine.”

I know it's needs must in this particular case. But having thousands of guns in the population after the war is just asking for trouble. I think it is/was illegal to have private weapons in the Ukraine and this is very much a temporary measure. So I don't think it's the best example of private gun ownership since it's the gov that handed them out.

TBF I think its the best possible example of gun ownership - as a collective / social thing, with the population working together for a common goal its vastly superior to what we see in gun rights in the US or even where ownership is only allowed for hunting, target shooting, clay pigeon shooting or whatever.

If I was someone in the US looking to reform the 2A I'd like to think I would be all over this as an alternative (and much more likely) explanation of what the 2A actually means and was intended to mean by the framers.

Not sure why this is a "Ukrainian news reporting...." this referendum has been widely reported for weeks

Could someone please explain why Chechens would fight for Putin? I thought they were at war with Russia(or had been)? Seem to remember terrorist attacks on Russia took place back in the 00s?
