I think until there is a definite shift in the diplomatic position, we have to assume there isn't one.Let's see if that's correct.
There's been no affirmation that the policy has not changed.
I fear that the first time we realise it has changed is when there's a report of long range weapons being used to attack Russian military bases and supply lines...which will inevitably escalate to their use on Russian civilian populations.
The Ukrainians are after mission creep - they see this as the first step to drag NATO into the conflict they're losing.
As you say, the first hint of a UK missile hitting Russian territory will be that line crossed. Which, in my opinion will be a mistake.
But, I don't think we can seriously suggest that the UK would be acting without any Russian provocation.
