It's funny that the Russian sympathizers all point to Ukranian losses but never mention the far more losses Russia have taken both in men and equipment.
I've yet to see a Russian sympathiser on this thread, some realists. It's time a political solution was found. The loses that Ukraine are taking can not be sustained. No doubt western media will promise yet another offensive for next Summer.

Summed up passionately.

The sooner Russia's "colonies" can free themselves of the Russian boot on their necks the better for all.

Free Ukraine, free Georgia, Syria et al.

100%.. but any solution has to ensure Russia aren't back in 10 years for more, Ukraine will have to agree to give up land, There will also have to be guarantees of protection from the west for Ukraine. Right now I don't think either side would agree to these conditions.

Sadly at the moment they won't,I've a horrible feeling lots more young men have to die before they end up signing something very close to what you've described.

No thoughts for the Ukranian older men and women killed during the invasion and the continuous bombing?
Or the women and children raped and murdered as the Russians advanced?
Or the many more civilians that will be raped and murdered if the Russians advance further?

Thought not.

I dont think Russia gonna quit this war any time soon, they are on the up and having initiative, thousands of people (mostly from minorities from far east and Caucus) getting "silently" mobilized every month, war economy in full swing, international isolation also not working considering two by far largest countries in the world freely trading with them (among many others).

They need to be defeated on the battlefield clearly to make them back off, unfortunately looks like that window passed last year with that failed counter-offensive, and considering how many troubles Ukraine got with manpower, not to mention possibility of Trump re-election, question is will they ever again be in position to mount large scale counter-attack.

Cause this war of attrition that slowly bleeding Ukraine against opponent almost 5 time its size (in population) is just not the way.

Ah I forgot the cats and dogs too,so obviously I'm in the pay of Putin. Odd is it might seem the greatest number of daily deaths happen on the front lines and involve young men of military age. I didn't mention the innocent Russian men and woman who have died in the recent shelling by Ukraine, they have no choices as they live in a toxic dictatorship. But then you didn't mention them either. So although millions of Russians don't support Putin or "his" war,I'm sure for you the only good Russian is a dead one.

Doesn't that mean that NATO have to send troops in then (and everything else that comes with such a declaration of war)? There's zero chance of Ukraine winning with just weapons and money.
Well the other alternatives include if Russia completely wears out or defeats Ukraine and what rump state is de facto backed and defended by NATO/ EU/ current allies; or there is a regime change in one or both of the two countries and this makes a deal possible.

I am also not very curious to find out how the Russians would respond and if they would target NATO based assets supporting efforts in Ukraine. That would potentially be WW3 time. Cameron has already rowed back after saying about using UK supplied weapons against Russian based targets.

This was always the question - where/how does this end? From the very start it was clear that neither Putin nor Zed would negotiate unless either was in really desperate need. The tables have certainly turned on Ukraine of late (awaiting US military package) which will only further embolden Vlad. And so it rolls on....

The sides are, and have been, far enough apart that a political settlement is/was unthinkable.

It's also how this ends, because NATO entry is World War III. Political conditions have to change inside one of the two countries. That could be a complete Ukraine loss, but more likely the fall of Kyiv or a loss of morale. It could be the fall of Putin, or withdrawal becoming more attractive than an imminent fall. He has already put down one poorly planned, abortive coup attempt. He could keel over dead for medical (or sinister) reasons.

The Berlin Wall came down in a night. The Soviet Union fell in a week. The collapse of Eden's government was swift, and total. Conditions have conspired to produce stalemate for some time. It doesn't follow that things will stay that way.
