I never knew until I worked with a lovely Polish girl for the last few years, who I'm still friends with now. She's as peaceful and kind as they come but she explained how the Polish just have the deep, embedded hatred of Russians due to the events of WWII.

Even we (Croatia) when we started our final offensive in 1995 had 200 000 troops in action, and we are only country of 4 million, while Russia got like 140 million.

The problem with modern, sophisticated weaponry is that you often need people trained on modern, sophisticated weaponry to use it.

I saw today that the Netherlands were sending stinger missiles: even if they're MANPADs (shoulder launched), they will need people to train how to use them.

It's a few week course to use them properly, so to some extent you worry how effective they'll be, if not just a token gesture. The above tactics may be best.

Ukrainians have been trained on stingers, NLAW and SMAW. the old adage of train the trainer applies as well.

I’m also wondering if we counted back in all the SF that were sent out there as trainers/advisors?
