Its calamitous for Ukrainians on the battlefield. All along the frontline Russian forces are gaining ground, particularly around Avdiivka. The HQ has pulled out and as for the rest, is it Bahkmut or Mariupol levels of losses.

Zelensky is making excuses, they've had all the so called game changers and they haven't changed the game in their favour.
Zelensky has given up the ghost and is just making excuses before, hopefully, he is allowed to negotiate a settlement.

Ukraine is war weary and a majority are more concerned about corruption than, 'the Russian invasion'.

The 'peace plan' talks today were a prelude to the US Empire ditching Zelensky, now they've got a bigger concern. They may well trickle money to Ukraine to keep up appearances but they'll ditch them as quickly as they ditched Afghanistan. The US Empire may well need Russia, and China, to negotiate some sort of deal, that saves the colonists in occupied Palestine, if it goes really belly up for the US's proxies in the middle East.

Regarding the Yanks and Ukraine: I also think the Democrats won't fancy going into an electoral year with Ukraine as an issue dogging them. They're onto a loser with that in the polls I believe. It plays into the Republican candidate's favour to say they support Ukraine's aims but that the US comes first and support for a state that continually fails to gain the upper hand is throwing good money after bad and it needs to be audited.

Biden will leave Kyiv high and dry to avoid that. I'm absolutely convinced of it.

You'd think it's like running away from a hungry lion and noticing your shoe lace is undone. It's annoying and not helping the situation but no chance you're going to tie it up at the moment as the other thing will kill you.

The majority of Ukraine's government have been a big bunch of crooks for years. It's rife. Hopefully the country can get the chance to address that problem when it's not fighting for its life. In the meantime it's probably way down on the list of priorities but I suspect the average Ukrainian would prefer to not have family on the war front, have a safe home, access to utilities and food and not having to Skype apologies to Kev the linguist for not knowing the right words.
