The Ukrainians at least have the excuse of a messed up history (the UPA and fighting with the Germans were the only games in town against the Soviets who had after all effectively genocided them) but for the Canadian government and officials not to know that a 98 year old man who fought against the Soviets in his youth probably did it in dodgy company is beyond belief.
Anyone with even a basic understanding of WW2 on the Eastern Front would have been able to warn them not to call him a hero.
As you say, the Ukrainian SS, police and “volunteers” facilitated the genocide of most of Ukrainian Jewry and tens of thousands of Poles, Russians, Soviet POWs etc. I’ve no idea if this old man took part on any of that, but that was the side he was on.

He was part of the filth who perpetrated the Final Solution.

To fail to screen him and see him being applauded unwittingly by Zelensky is a national disgrace for the Canadians.

you mean fight in the areas between 2014-2021 - which is what they were actually doing? No I dont think it was ok at all.

He has, as far as possible it appears to me, observed the outcome of the referendums.

No, I don't. If you'd been reading what I actually post as opposed to what you assume to be the case then you'll know I support the Ukrainians and oppose the Russian invasion.

Its that type of misrepresentation of what I believe that's forced me to place a few posters on ignore in this thread - which is why there's been no response to their utter 'kin nonsense. They know who they so I hope they don't litter this thread up with forlorn attacks on me (that I can't read) and spoil it for others who are not onboard with their horrendous character assassinations.
