I can’t be too sure it was a long time ago but I think I read Nato USA did like a war game simulation. a few years ago where if Russia nukes a member they nuke Belarus in response. I am sure that’s only if they nuke a none nuclear member. I think personally if they nuke any member with nukes they will be getting one sent straight back. Anyway it’s been said many times if Russia nukes Ukraine NATO won’t respond with one but by destroying the Black Sea fleet.

Again, it’s not “to defend Russian soil” in that doctrine; its to defend the existence of the Russian state.

Personally I think Crimea is where one is most likely to be used, but even then would be a huge risk in these circumstances - they’d have advertised their weakness to the entire world (as they’d have had to be defeated on the battlefield to have reached that point).

Sadly that would depend on Putin's interpretation and given that defeat in the Donbass would fairly obviously lead to his downfall we have to join the dots.
