Aye, they'll hopefully know where to challenge and where to pass if they are actually wanting to march towards the capital. If they get close, it could be messy.

Even if there are Russian units that are 'on paper' stationed along the way, it's not hard to imagine that some of the paramilitary units may switch or run.

And the operational status of the regular army (or reserve) units is probably questionable, at best. Will they have men, weapons and capable commanders?

Unlikely, when you consider how inept the regular army in Ukraine has been, and how much they've had to plunder their reserves to get a fighting force together.

A lone sentry with no magazine for his weapon and a broom stick handle, probably isn't too unrealistic for some of the so called 'bases'.

More or less how I see it. Thank God for Nunn-Lugar. If Ukraine had nukes, I could 100% see Putin using some of his tactical arsenal on those Wagner formations, then blaming Ukraine as always. Putin is on record as being willing to use them to deal with threats to the state, and this certainly qualifies. Without plausible deniability, though, I can't see that as an available option.

I don't see how Putin stops tens of thousands of men otherwise, with all of his assets out of position to deal with it. I still think Prigozhin's plan is sloppy and reckless, on paper. He may know more than I do, but this wouldn't be the first rabbit Putin produced from a hat, should he find a way.

I saw that - reports his family jet took off, flew through Russia and now heading westward. There'll be a few cronies fleeing in the next few hours.

in fact just saying "go home, protect your families" could work better than fighting in terms of removing the Russian Army from Ukraine at this point

They can't seriously think they can go to ground in Turkey for long. They would be huge bargaining chips for Erdogan, who very badly needs money to deal with a domestic crisis. That story only ends one way.

Prigozhin is ten time worse, this is the guy that want full scale mobilization and tactical nukes to be used, guy that think Putin is too soft.

They ain't coming together again after this.. in way too deep, if the reports are accurate and he's actually brought military personnel into Russia and taken over towns and military HQ.. it's absolutely the right time to sow the boot in..
