Well, they can if you consider Russia's threat to Europe as long-term, rather than Putin and his cronies finishing in Ukraine and moving straight on.

But anyway, it's not about the hyperbole of invading all of Europe, but rather continuing to exert his/Russia's influence on its neighbours.

If Russia were to win this conflict and maintain a foothold in Ukraine, it would embolden them. It may take them a while to rearm, but they'd have a precedence.

Stop them now, and it'd dampen their threat for a significantly longer period of time; this isn't the 2-dimension world that many people perceive it to be.

If they're losing eight-hundred a day, the actual number being lost from units could be close to 1,5000 - 2,000, which are absolutely barmy numbers.

I can't imagine the horror of being conscripted into this idiocy. I have no sympathy for Putin et al., but defo some for those Russians forced to fight against their will. And, of course, tons for the poor people of the Ukraine and their defenders.
