A few tanks and prisons emptied of the wrongs uns aint much of a cost if compared to both sides going toe to toe in terms of multimillion dollar aircraft. Have the Russians been recruiting and training more pilots for the past 12 months? Is this an escalation the west is prepared to see through, and like with the missiles and drones, who might have spare planes amongst the axis of anti-westernism north korea, china, iran, and who knows who else...

Planes once the war is over is probably how it'll go unless the Ukrainians start falling back. Someone somewhere more clued up on possible responses form Russia if we say yes to the Ukrainian requests for jets has probably been crunching those numbers for months now.
Let's hope that nukes are not involved as we'd have to not retaliate- it would be game over for everyone of we did. It's a mess.

And yes, it can only end with peace talks; but only once every single Russian invader has been pushed back into their failing tinpot country.
We’ve got about 30 tranche 1 Typhoons sitting around doing nothing.
It would take about 6 months (intensive) for Uke pilot ops conversion. If however we aim to train pilots from scratch then it would take about 4 years.
The tranche 1 typhoons would fill the QRA air-air role well and would give Ukraine a fighting chance against the Mig-31’s. They also have the software and targeting pods to provide air-ground capability using paveway.
However AFAIK they don’t support the storm Shadow cruise missiles that Sunak is threatening to ship to Ukraine.
This loon authorised the use of nuclear materials on UK soil more than once already.
Should have done more about that then, lack of substantial response only emboldened him.
