They’ve run out of prisoners apparently. Most of them are either dead or maimed. They must have emptied an awful lot of prisons……
Now they’re using a combination of mobiks and regulars

Yup. They seem to have no regard for human life. They use their own troops to draw fire from Ukrainian positions so that they can zero in on them with their arty.
They don’t give a toss about their own troops, effectively using them as bait. Like you said it’s akin to WWI /II and Korean War tactics.
Yeah - effectively they will lay waste to entire map grid squares knowing that they will hit their targets inside that grid but not giving a flying one about killing and destroying everything else.Another problem with massive artillery bombardments, is that there tends to be " mistakes made, which can cause massive collateral damage " as there`s so much that can wrong and affect the accuracy of the shelling - the weather, the wind, the skill or lack of it of the gunners., the quality of the shells etc.

Stalingrad was won because they broke German flanks outside city and surrounded 6th army inside. Also it was meat grinder for both side, and not ridiculous Hollywood movie with supermen Germans overwhelmed by Asiatic hordes. The Antony Beevor fbook about the battle for Stalingrad in WW2, is a fantastic read, for the way it explain and brings the Russian tactics of the " meat grinder " to life.
It seems that Putin is using the same play book.
Apparently he was on missile launching duty but they had to sack him off as he kept missing the target. Spends his days peeling spuds now I believe.Just curious, has there been any news about Bily?
Believe he was drafted sometime in autumn
He did have one tremendous blammo away at Wolves. Think Neville scored from outside the box as well. What a day ?Apparently he was on missile launching duty but they had to sack him off as he kept missing the target. Spends his days peeling spuds now I believe.
I remember it wellHe did have one tremendous blammo away at Wolves. Think Neville scored from outside the box as well. What a day ?
The Bradley’s are half way across the Atlantic - will be in Southampton 7th Feb and in Ukraine by the 12th.This tanks will not come in time, 30 Abrams apparently only at the end of year, Leopards God know when, certainly not in time for coming storm.
All this bullshitting, dilly dallying and pretending "all is fine" while watching videos from only side and pretending all Ukrainians are Rambo incarnate helps absolutely nobody. They suffering disastrous losses, American Chief of Staff already said that in November (over 100 000 casualties) and Russian Telegram channels are full of gruesome videos of dead Ukrainians, drone bombings, lancet strikes same as Ukrainian channels.
They need help, decisive help, and not little by little that is coming every few months.

They fought one of the greatest, lethal and most evil army ever assembled at it peak, who had one goal, to exterminate, and not remains of the remains of the remains of that army.
Also Red Army, not Russian army, with much larger pool of recruits (Ukrainians, Belarusians, all the Central Asian states etc...), that could afford such losses, Russia alone can't, especially now.

They’re Leopard 1A5s, which were the last to receive modifications. This means they'll have an LRF fitter, improved optics (thermal, magnification) and an FCS.Anyway, apparently Germany approved sending 88 of older Leopards 1 (wonder are they trolling Russians with symbolic meaning of that number).
Leopards 1 are originally from like 1960s, but modernized of course. Good gun and mobility but almost non-existent armor
Guess its gonna be useful as fire support to infantry and attacking fortified positions. Tank vs tank warfare is quite rare, even during ww2, despite like of Tigers, Panthers etc... being so mythologizedThey’re Leopard 1A5s, which were the last to receive modifications. While they're not going to match the standard of third-generation MBTs, Russia would be fool hardy to dismiss them, and more so with the ancient stock they have.
If a Russian grunt is sat in an early spec T-72 with little upgrades, he's not going to want to come up against the 105mm rounds they'll be lobbing at them.
