I agree with your reasoning here however, it seems Israel have more influence where it matters than Russia. No one dares criticise them. The tide is slowly turning though
Yep, the nuke deal was a real coming in from the cold moment for Iran imo. Unfortunately, Netanyahu got in trumps ear and the rest is historyCertainly the contrast between when we want something from them and when they want something from us is ever more visible. It is a shame that the protests kicked off in Iran when they did because there would surely be no better time to go back into that nuclear deal than now, given the ungratefulness of the deals two biggest opponents.

The American public have a huge (unwarranted) sympathy with Israel it seems and there is a huge Jewish presence/pressure in their political systemA big obstacle for anything brokered there is that you can guarantee any US president pushing for it will have his legs cut out from under him sooner rather than later.
They're not a satellite state by any means, but they're their balance and check in the Middle East and beyond. The American public have a huge (unwarranted) sympathy with Israel it seems and there is a huge Jewish presence/pressure in their political system

Yeah, the state of Israel tends to be fairly popular in the US, and tends to poll 60-70% favorable towards. I think it comes from 4-5 areas combined, theres a sympathy towards a country many see as being surrounded by those who have tried to exterminate them, theres a formed kinship based on the connection with similar beliefs(no longer plays nearly as much of a part), then theres WW2 and the most visible sign of oppression and evil being against them since the US is across an ocean from the entirety of the conflict, and last theres a visible but small number of Jewish individuals in politics. As it seems to apply to most discussions, a majority of Americans also support a Palestinian state. The American public have a huge (unwarranted) sympathy with Israel it seems and there is a huge Jewish presence/pressure in their political system
