I think he has adopted his alternative viewpoints and developed his own unique confrontational image purely as a means of income.

He’s learnt that being confrontational and adopting an alternative (sideways) looking viewpoint mixed with his own military background actually attracts human interest and interest means dollars. In the end it’s all about money.

I doubt he actually believes half the rubbish he spouts, but if it sells books and articles and gets him after-dinner speaking gigs then life is sweet for him.

I would be wary of a person who adopts a radical viewpoint (opposed to the main stream pov) solely on the basis that it makes them money.

He got found out in the US Army.

Absolutely none of the media circuit former army/intelligence/government are worth a piss in the wind whichever side they're on, purely as they now make a fortune by being an acceptable 'expert opinion' which given if you stray from the media narrative you just get blackballed from the lucrative
circuit.

Even the ones i like to listen to i include in that

I was just wondering if the 10 pages or so about Brexit in this thread was 'de-railing' the thread? Or the 10 pages about Taiwan was 'de-railing' the thread?

Merseyside workers fought against Franco, is that wrong to mention that when people are saying the fascist Hitler loving Azov Brigade are heroes?

Or that Dixie refused to do the Nazi salute?

Absolutely nothing would improve global society and standards of governance more than "commentators", politicians, think tank wonks and the other talking heads being removed from the media. Alex Jones, Owen Jones, Van Jones, Nick Ferrari, that cretin Scarborough, Solovyov, Tucker Carlson, Paul Mason and the rest - put all of them in the bin.

The only people who should be asked their opinion on matters by the media are the people who actually know what they are talking about (so experts in the particular field in question) and random members of the public stopped on the street. If the expert needs an hour to explain in detail about a complex issue, they should be afforded that time.
