Cracks starting to appear in the BBC's coverage this morning. When one of the reporters in the studio was asked about the bodies being uncovered in the Ukraine,he said that it didn't look like a massacre as many of the bodies are in individual graves and normally a large pit would have been dug. His female co-presenter tried her best to shut him down and redirect the narrative.

In the areas of Kharkiv right now for anyone being of Russian ancestry/sympathy - especially so if you have worked under the occupation for any institution under Russian control is going to lead to a lot of 'dissapeared' civilians. Magnify that ten fold for the areas with a huge ethnic Russian population should they be retaken.

Note,nothing in this post is apologizing for anything done, it's saying that not looking at the full picture of what is and will happen is ignoring lessons of history - the exact same as in WW2, the Nazis rolled through - killed pro Russians, the Russians later in the war took the area back and killed pro Germans.

The same thing undoubtedly is occuring now (on both sides) - but only one of these is being reported by ANY main stream media. Pretty much every story being filed on this is from a reporter sat in Kiev, or in an office in Europe, which means Ukraine completely control the narrative of what is seen how it is seen and who they allow access to it. That shouldn't sit well with anyone wanting to know what is really occurring.

Will take years after this is all over for the full truth of events to come out, if they ever fully do.

It's 8 years on from the Odessa trade union house and 40+ pro Russian men, women, children being locked inside and burnt alive by Azov, and people are buying their branded merchandise on line thinking they're cool. So yeah not too optimistic about people waking up

I’m aware of the behaviour by certain groups in the occupied areas. They do not warrant an invasion like the one we are seeing.
As for the propaganda, if Russia had not pumped out fake news relentlessly for years, perhaps people woukd be more inclined to listen to what they are saying.
This is all down to them I’m afraid

With the amount of satellite imagery over the area I'd have thought that any mass grave would have been detected whilst the area was still under Russian occupation.
 
Yea, let’s all feel sorry for a country that has a recent track record of aggressive be actions against neighbouring states (Crimea 2014, Georgia 2008 anybody) and the regime that has no problem ’suiciding’ and attempting to bump off its opposition, poisoning people in other countries, flooding the net with disinformation, interfering with the democratic elections of other countries and currently has some of its news talking heads openly calling for a nuclear strike against Ukraine.

I’m know a lot of western governments have their own share of skeletons, but Jesus Christ, take a step back for a minute lol

Agree totally about the Russian propoganda effectively poisoning the information well so they now it's easy to just assume everything is propoganda that they say mate.

But I also think in my lifetime this is the most controlled media blitz we have ever seen, never to this extent seen even close to the acceptance of everything said by one side in a conflict being accepted without question, and literally reported as fact on mass. I know Russian media is controlled - but right now I'm seeing very little difference in the way the western MSM is reporting to that.

Long gone are the days when we had the likes of a young John Pilger writing for the daily mirror.

Thing is mate, whose actually saying 'feel sorry for Russia' haven't seen a single post saying such.

But what i have seen is some people saying 'don't believe everything you're told verbatim'. Try understand why events happened and try understand why they are still happening and for that it requires context, consequences of actions and reactions.and an understanding of more than 'Putin a new Hitler, Russians evil'

Russia have invaded Ukraine. What is hard to understand about this fact?

The people you are siding with on this are saying things such as 'Ukraine does not exist, there is no Ukrainian culture' etc, but they Ukraine does exist and they are fighting for their home and rich culture. Might be best if you take another break from this thread mate.
