A couple of lads in here still surprised that people's sympathy generally lies with the invaded country and not the invaders. It's a mad world where you'd have to even explain why that's the case
I can only answer for myself, but I have no sympathy for Russia, just a healthy cynicism for the role of the US in this tragic situation. Some of the pro western propaganda is embarrassing. Another week and still no calls for a ceasefire, very sad

In the end, Putins arrogance may have cemented this downfall. With the reports of regions looking to separate, which makes sense, it seems he didnt consider the long term effects. If Putin had just failed, declared they liberated the eastern part, and pulled back he might have had something to make up for all of his losses and retained power.

But the problem with him arrogantly insisting total victory must be achieved and being unwilling to cut losses is he can never reach his impossible goal. And that means it drags on, and on, and on. But he doesnt have the resources in Moscow to replenish what was lost, or keep fighting. Russia is such a vast country of many different people groups, the majority of which are no where near Mosocw and that Russia has always found it hard to control. For a long time it was done with a mixture of fear and promises. But now, who fears the Russian machine? What do they get from Moscow but dead children, high taxes, and stealing their hard earned money to send to a fruitless and vile war? If it had been a month those would have endured. But now that Putin has foolishly bled them dry, they no longer have the same fear, and that is combined with the anger they now have for what he has stolen from them, and a desperation as they become poor and beleaguered all to go a madman whos killing people. A 1 month war draining resources that Russia really doesnt have is a brutal loss, but one Putin could save enough face from. A 12 month war draining the whole country will crush Russia(what will be left of it) and him even more than they have already been and his enemies will reach their breaking point.

Finally, a concise unbiased review of what Russia is really all about. I feel for some of the posters on here being either mislead or total deluded. Their hate for the West and especially the UK & USA is getting boring. This war will continue for some time until the embarrassed Russian warmonger machine implodes. Putin is done one way or the other. Opinions won't change this dynamic.

Thanks to a wildly unpredictable tangent in the NFL thread, it's clear that Putin only needs to find another 249,999 eager conscripts.
Good luck. As Russia is a melting pot of minorities they don't want to die for a deluded Putin. Time Called. Once sanctions really start to bite wait for the internal fireworks.

Guantanamo Bay?

What happened to kadyrov and his battalions. The little gremlin was giving it the big one, then disappeared. Hopefully he’s first in line for the firing squad when Putin’s support collapses.
He criticised the Russian armies leadership the other, but said that Putin might not be aware of how bad the situation is so he might be forced into having a word with Putin and the other leaders to explain the situation to them.
It's as close as he can get to complaining without risking a fall from a 6th floor window.
