The US hasn't invaded Ukraine and Ukraine hasn't invaded Russia. You can dance around the subject as much as you want but the fact that Russia has invaded Ukraine and is commiting horrendous acts upon civilians won't change.
The sooner Russia effs off back home the better for all.
Anyone trying to defend what Putin is doing is a trumpet.
Let's all hope he sees sense and goes for Option 3.Given the amount of equipment captured and the number of Russians either killed or captured, I’m calling this the end of Putin’s SMO. He no longer has the force strength to conduct offensive ops in Ukraine.
So what options does he have?
1. Full mobilization and conscription. This will end Russia and he knows this.
2. Lob a tactical nuke or two into the fray. NATO will respond in kind. Very bad scenario
3. Request ceasefire and full withdrawal of all Russian forces back into Russian territory. Quite possibly this is the only valid option he has left.
Thing is Ukraine will want Crimea back as part of any deal.Let's all hope he sees sense and goes for Option 3.
They might choose/decide they now have the wherewithal to take it back !Thing is Ukraine will want Crimea back as part of any deal.
Can’t see Putin giving that back.
I did not say you are a trumpet, mate, I said anyone defending what Putin is doing is.Show me where exactly I have 1. Supported what happened or 2. Defended what is happening?
There's a huge difference between understanding why something happened and the cause and effect which led to it and defending or supporting mate.
Anyone who doesn't realise that is well .. you said it 'a trumpet'.
I cba to go back through all the threads about other conflicts, Iraq, Afhgan or a multitude if others where it's the US or Brits invading or Palestine or Yemen etc, to see if you and some others being very vocal here where equally outraged and critical - but if you weren't then, can I ask why not mate, what makes this different exactly?
He ain’t going for number two, and if he does I suspect the generals and Co. wouldn’t comply and he he’d end up, like his friends, facing a bullet.Given the amount of equipment captured and the number of Russians either killed or captured, I’m calling this the end of Putin’s SMO. Far more likely that it's a mixture of the Russian forces not fully believing in the mission; being unbelievably poor led and equipped; facing a tremendously dogged and determined opponent; being out-thought, out manoeuvred; and now - thanks to the military aid provided by the West - outgunned.Sorry but I don’t know enough about this to comment properly but I know that Ukraine has received some support from the West but I would not have thought that would be sufficient to account for the current gains Ukraine appears to be making. Is it possible that the Russian military on the ground in Ukraine are just giving up the fight?
Sure I wouldn’t discount it. The Ukranians are a bunch of honeybadgers. They might choose/decide they now have the wherewithal to take it back !
By such logic if somehow he did the order and it was carried out and NATO responded in kind (they wouldn't btw) then I'd imagine you'd believe whichever president gave that order would similarly be taken out ?He ain’t going for number two, and if he does I suspect the generals and Co. wouldn’t comply and he he’d end up, like his friends, facing a bullet.
