Three 3-0 wins on the bounce - everything's ok in the world.
Pulis' zombies turn up and scab a goal - change the manager.

As BlueToff said: fickle.

Next week we win, then it's ok again.

Unreal behaviour.

Why not just accept that when you have a new young squad still developing then you'll have ups and downs? Or maybe some people prefer running round with their hair on fire? 'Kin drama queens are killing Everton.

Cleverley and Kone, David.

What is life.

Sacking Martinez would risk de-stabilising this squad which is full of players he has brought in... and I don't agree with sacking your manager half way through the campaign.

This time last week everything was rosy. Sick of fickle fans.

We got done today and it happened. We have to move on from it and start again.
I said it last week and I'll say it again. If you thought everything was rosy because we'd beaten a couple of poor sides and finally won 2 on the trot, then it's not others who are fickle.

I see problems with this side which have not been addressed in 18 months and I'm worried. I'm happy when we win but I don't let it blind me. I don't think we're going in the right direction & until we show genuine signs of long term improvement that opinion won't change. I'm sick of fans having a go at other fans for not accepting the utterly abysmal home performances we've been seeing this season.

Martinez has his downside. But can we stop knee-jerking? I'd have loved to win today. But we weren't awful, we created chances, and got done by one of the luckiest finishes you will see all year. It was typical Pulis.

We're building something good here lads. Stop crying on GOT when we don't win, stop booing, stop being knee-jerk bells and giving the media a chance to spout their #MartinezOUT jarg all over the internet. Because that will help results?

I've got 3 episodes left of Breaking Bad, and I can safely say its more boring and overrated than this Everton side. So enjoy it whilst it last before we get a dream team of Moyes, Pulis and Big Sam steering us to 40 points every season.

Watch the game again, first 20 minutes they had a go and were probably on top to be honest. They came for a 1-0 and got it. Nothing lucky about it, if they'd needed to keep going at us they would have. As it was they shut up shop and reduced it to mainly speculative efforts. At home. With a striker who cost more than half their team combined and an unselected player who would be their record signing.

Something very lucky about it though. Firstly is was a fluke goal. Second we created chances after they scored after Pulis put 10-11 behind the ball. On another day we score 3-4. Just one of those days.

Nothing more, nothing less.

"Watch the game again, first 20 minutes they had a go and were probably on top to be honest." Revisionary nonsense, we were by far the better team from the get go.

"As it was they shut up shop and reduced it to mainly speculative efforts."
We hit the woodwork twice, and forced a clearance off of the line. We had many efforts of varying degree of difficulty.

"an unselected player who would be their record signing." Clearly he's not fit yet mate.

It happens. We were the better team, but through some top quality last ditch defending, soft refereeing allowing Smackdown V Raw to commence in and around the penalty area, Rom having an off day and a little slice of luck, we lost. If we had played like that every week this season, we'd be top 4 right now.

Oh don't get me wrong, the goal was weird and we had some chances, but I think there's only so many times you can say 'one of those days'. Swansea was 'one of those days', as was norwich away. Palace at home. United at home was because HK died, Bournemouth and chelsea away were freak scenarios... We had over an hour to get an equaliser and in my opinion had maybe 2 clear cut chances to do so. That's poor. A lot of people saying pulis is really good at getting performances like today but how many 1-0 wins have they had this season?

One of the efforts that hit the woodwork was a cross. The other was from outside the box. See 'speculative'.

Genuinely disagree on the first 20 minutes, they gave every bit as good as they got in that spell. Fair point on niasse though, that was a low blow on my part.

I am only talking about the game against WBA...and it was one of those games.

We win that 9 of 10 times. Fluke goal. Funes Mori cleared off the line. Barkley two inches to the left and it's in. Cleverley a couple of inches lower goes in (even if that would have been a fluke). Beyond a few other chances...Barkley had one deflected a bit wide...could have gone anywhere.

It's simply one game where we played pretty damn well and lost. There is no reason to make it bigger than that. We have had some dire performances in the last 18 months...this was not one of them.

But the point I'm making is you can't say we win it 9 out of 10 times when we don't! When we lost to Sunderland in 2013/14 it was 'one of those games' because we were winning most weeks and just somehow contrived to lose that game. As you say, it happens.

This season though, 9 times out of 10, we're not winning those games. Swansea away, norwich away, Swansea at home, palace at home, today. All games you would think we should have won based on possession, shots etc but all games that we failed to win. To me that moved beyond bad luck and starts to become a pattern.

You'd be perfectly happy with a manger that ditched the team he was with mid season? Wouldn't trust anyone who did that not to do exactly the same thing to us. It is one thing to break your contract in the off season but to leave your team in the lurch is an awful thing for anyone with character to do.

Koeman is OK but a lot of S'ton recent form seems to be down to having a Forster back rather than some tactical genius from Ronald.

I wonder if Gary Monk is still available :)

No excuses for poor performances against Swansea and United. Bournemouth and Chelsea we played well for the majority of the match but poorly for spells which cost us. Palace wasn't all that bad a result, they were on form, and again we played well.

I agree that the majority of our efforts were speculative, but we did create some openings. Coleman had a couple he could have done better with, Barkley's wasn't speculative per se, Kone had a chance in the area and one McCarty should have got on target, from the top of my head. Cleverley's was though, I guess I stretched that one.

One area the whole squad (bar the defence maybe) could work on is playing the pass/hitting the shot one second, or one touch earlier. Could make all of the difference.

Do people even bother looking at the league table or our form anymore, or just say this sort of tosh to make themselves not have to face reality?

We do play like this most weeks, that's why we've lost seven home games.
