..."and there are unconfirmed reports that Osman is a big doubt as well which would leave Moyes with a real headache in the middle of the park"....

What on in God's name is going on, this is absolutely [Poor language removed] pathetic. Top four, my arse, at this rate we are gonna be relegation contenders.
It just gets better..

Its a shambles this surely something has gone wrong moneywise that seems to be apparent now becuase not even us would go into a match with the squad this streched

As for being relegated? no that wont happen but i can see struggles ahead if we dont sign somebody soon

I think there must be a takeover in the offing. There is no way they wouldn't spend any money unless he was about to sell up

Obviously Kenwright and co won't be spending their own money but there would be nothing to stop them using the money the club has in hand (£10m from AJ) or taking out another loan. Neither option would necessarily affect the sale or the value of the club.
In fact you could argue that bringing in someone of Moutinho's stature would actually increase the sale value.
Whereas doing the opposite - nothing, quite clearly devalues the club

Unless there is no money to spend? Sorry for the doom and gloom but there isnt a right lot to cheer about at the mo. I keep thinking it will look better next week but it always seems to look worse.

Of course another possibility is that there isn't nearly enough money so the club is desperately trying to pinch off every penny from any deals and the other teams are not co-operating (why should they?). For instance, if the transfer budget after the sales is less than 20 million and Moyes knows he needs 5-6 players, there isn't an awfully lot to spend on any player.

Or they are trying to circumvent this by trying to do deals where the payment up front is very low, effectively moving the payments forward by years. Again, other clubs are not obliged to play ball and can demand bigger payments up front.

A player wouldn't affect the price of the club. So bill would be very reluctant to spend any money. The price would have depended on kirkby so it might have been agreed but since the collapse of the project the price will be adjusted

I sort of agree with that to an extent but it wouldn't stop at least 1 player coming in

The more loans a business has the more of a risk it is for someone to take over, if Kenwright were up for selling his best bet would to make the club look less risky by cancelling out some of those debts. To be honest if he were going to sell either way it might actually work in our favour for him to get a better owner in, im talking long term of course and it would definitely shaft us in the short term, especially if we make no signings and cant keep the momentum of the past few years.

Hahahhaahaahahahhaha some bloke on kipper just posted this hahahaha:

Blues call upon old legends to lift fans spirits
Aug 15 2008
EXCLUSIVE by Brian Lagg, Liverpool Daily Post

After a summer of no new signings, departures of key players and a CEO, a Chairman looking to sell and a squad that is looking slightly thin on the ground with injuries and suspensions. Everton have called upon some old legends to make an appearance at Goodison for the first game in the new Premiership calender, against Blackburn Rovers.
Despite the game against Blackburn being a sell out, Bill Kenwright has personally asked former Everton legends Duncan Ferguson and Kevin Campbell to appear at half time in tomorrows game to some how lift the mood that is getting increasingly agitated at Goodison in recent weeks.
Duncan Ferguson former striker will be flying in especially from his new home in Majorca to greet the fans that idolised him for so many years. Also flying in from his recent holiday in Dubai, Kevin Campbell who once saved the club from relegation will also be making an appearance. Campbell who is also admired by the Blues fans had this to say,
'After leaving Everton I have bumped into many Evertonians who have all thanked me and told how much they appreciated what I did for them. It was a pleasure to play for such a great club and I was just as thrilled as them to have kept Everton in the top flight.
I understand Everton fans are frustrated at the moment with the lack of signings but they finished 5th last season and had a great run in 2 cup competitions, they should not be so downhearted. I am sure David Moyes will bring in players as and when he can'.
Critics of Bill Kenwright are wondering whether the appearance of these two players is a cunning plan to point out to fans how these players were idolised in times when things were not ideal for Everton and in times of great concern. Those critics are saying that it is a cheap trick to remind fans that things have gotten better at Goodison Park and be to be grateful that they are no longer in that position.

Desperate times....
