2025/26 Tim Iroegbunam

On his good days he has been MOTM. In what way is that average? Players progress at different rates. You seem to not understand that. Check out the comments from fans on this sight after his best games this season.
I very much understand that, and you very much don't understand that 3 good games in 20 aren't a good indicator of anything.

He might, MIGHT, make it as a good player in the Prem, but he's got a lot to work for and "is big" is not a Prem quality, we need more than that. He bosses championship teams like Forest and Wolves because that's his level - Newcastle, Arsenal, Chelsea bypass his existence and bully him, as there's more to football than being tall. I'd love to see him have more good games but based on the evidence so far he needs to work quite a bit and pull a skillset out of his backside.

He has, but he's also inconsistent and has shown his signs of improvement when subbed on for the last 20 or against utter turd opposition.

Yeah, "there's a player there", but that player is the most average of average for the PL. Right now we need that, but if he doesn't progress towards being better very fast, he's just not gonna be anything more than squad filler.

Feels a lot like people are looking at the 2 games where he did okay/very well and just ignore the previous 10 or so when he was abysmal.
He was never abysmal for ten games. That's hysterical nonsense.

You said let’s not sell Tim and “would they use the money wisely? “ but you think they will use the money wisely to buy full backs and strikers
I have to believe we will !!

Tim, I can see what we've got with him.
If teams are interested in him now than they will be in the summer..

All I want is full focus on the areas that we are all on the same page with.

CM is the least of our worries..

Squad depth is a huge factor in doing well over the course of a season.

A player with scope to improve who can come in and not look out of place and every so often look very good is definitely depth that should be encouraged. The hole he leaves isn't really worth the likely fee.

Especially as we still often depend on the legs and energy of a central midfielder who turns 37 next season.

If we think he's a decent squad player we shouldn't sell him because nobody is paying for than £10 million for him and you don't get much more £10 million these days unless you're Brighton or Brentford.

£10 million? No chance we'd sell at that price and you know it. £20 million plus is about the going rate for a young Premier League player who's started a few games and I'd still not sell at that price as he's part of our future

I wouldn't sell at that price I don't think, but I don't particularly rate him. I would say he's a good Championship level player.

We hare no control as fans and we can only hope they recruit Much better than they last bunch of clowns

On the one hand we say we want to discover talented young players out there with obvious potential, who are already suited to the PL.
On the other hand once we've signed one for a low fee, a fair number want to sell sell the same player before discovering his potential, and would seemingly prefer to give the proceeds to our recruitment team to unnecessarily gamble on finding another one.
Why?
I guess it depends on the age of the player (23 is not incredibly young) and how long you wait before discovering that potential. In my opinion the younger the player is the longer they get, the older, the less time and of course it depends on how many first team opps they get to discover that potential which in turn depends on how well they do in training
