2025/26 Tim Iroegbunam

You say he rates him, he’s mainly picked him when he’s had nobody else available. At times we had 4 midfielders and Tim was on the bench, Moyes even brought Rhol on before him off the bench a couple of times before Rhol has his injury.

We have a small squad in certain areas but with Armstrong back we have 6 centre midfielders
OK well Moyes has said there's a player in there, which for a man renowned for understatement is a massive hint. Rohl will become a 10 and Gana will be off soon, so down to 4 cms soon

What else
is he going to say. Rhol definitely won’t be a 10. And we need a proper number 6 next season imo

Can you list the 10 games where he was abysmal this season please? He was really poor against Newcastle but that was about it I think. He was great against Brighton, he was great against Bournemouth and Forest away. He was very good against Arsenal at home and he's made a number of excellent sub appearances. When he plays well he's one of our best players. Unfortunately he has the occasional shocker but that can happen to young players in midfield.
He's definitely not one of our best players when he plays, at least not every time. The fact you're listing about 3 games from his nearly 20 says enough.
You jump to his defence as if I'm saying I want him shot dead - he's just average on a good day and works well when we're playing to counter or against tired legs, but hasn't shown he's a solid enough midfielder technically (yet) as he doesn't have the awareness for it and is prone to falling asleep. I don't hate him or anything, just bizarre how we've had a lot of players show more and be blasted down, but for Tim it's as if he's Big Iniesta all of a sudden. Hate me all you want for it, but at this point in time he is still upper championship and would boss games there. Maybe he'll learn and do it in the Prem for us too, but it's a maybe right now.

Re: the comparison with Garner - Garner had played a ton more games at varying levels at Tim's age and was already showing he's great. We sadly had Dyche and even then JG was still showing he's a baller. The fact people say he's still young at 22-23 is also pretty funny - in a way, he is, but in many other ways many teams have players U20 look much better and play week in-week out. Tom Davies, of all people, was a first team regular in the Prem at 18-19. Tim was 7th choice at Villa or something at that age.

That said, it'd be mad to sell him, he'd be a good addition to have around as he has his strengths. If we SOMEHOW make it to Europe he will absolutely bully most teams there too.

Good player, definitly a good squad player.
Love his old school throwback tackles..
He will progress you up the pitch well.

2/3 of a player, he hasn't got the final third in his locker.

It comes down to what you want out of the lad..

Selling now would be silly business, unless you received an offer that matches what you class as good a return.
Would we use that money wisely ?

If we want a return on Alcaraz, he could be gone in the summer given his contract.
Gana might not get an extension, so that could be 3 gone from one area.

You dont want the CM to suddenly be a priority over Fb's and Striker.

I’d keep Myko and O’Brien as full
Backs and Beto and Barry as our strikers for next season . Because we may not use the money wisely in the summer 🤷🏻‍♂️

You've lost me !!

We will have had a good 12months with the recruitment team in place to find Fb's, I don't want anything effecting those positions.

Midfield is not a priority, don't make it the pinpoint..

What he needs to work on more than anything else is consistency. A lot of us say they see a player there because you see him do some really good stuff as a physical midfielder then just completely mess it up due to a lack of awareness of whats around him or make rash decisions. It'd be a bigger sign of improvement to me if he could play consistent games without being overly bad.

You said let’s not sell Tim and “would they use the money wisely? “ but you think they will use the money wisely to buy full backs and strikers

On his good days he has been MOTM. In what way is that average? Players progress at different rates. You seem to not understand that. Check out the comments from fans on this sight after his best games this season. Most player thought Garner was a nothing player who hid from the ball until fairly recently. I’d say Tim has played better this season than Garner did for the first half of last season. You just seem wilfully blind. Upper championship? He’s got a shed load of minutes for a team that is 9th. What planet are you on?
